Forums - Microsoft - "L4D2 Boycott Founders Goes to Valve - Enjoys L4D2"

Well the boycott shows Valve that you should never promise something if you can't deliver or when you deliver something make sure it isn't a month or so away from the second installment or people will think you did it to shut them up instead of it being from the heart.

So is he going to give up on that stupid boycott of his now?

I hope not. I still refuse to buy L4D2 till a 50% off sale.

LOL Good luck. The 360 version is still running at $49.99 because of its popularity.

@Chic: What the hell dude? I don't give a damn if they got to play it earlier than I do. I'm not the one bitching about them making a sequel. There are better things to be doing than wasting your time boycotting games. Wait, where's your insider pass? Please tell us what games you've been getting sneak peeks at, we're all ears here. I guess that must make you a moron as well. Takes one to know one I suppose.

There's actually only one company I'd even want that for (Nintendo) and they wouldn't listen no matter who complained.  The thing is, whether you like it or not, what they've done has given them special recognition.  You called them morons when they are un doubtedly better off than you.  That makes you a moron.  If you can prove you're better off than me, then I'll admit I'm a moron.  In the meantime how about you shut up until you can put up?

You do not have the right to never be offended.

There is just no appeasing people. First they complain that Valve releases their games too slow then they complain that Valve releases their games too quickly and now their complaining that Valve doesn't give them enough free stuff.

Seriously you bought the product and Valve has no obligation to go beyond what is on that disc and yet they do and still they get bitched at. If you don't want to buy L4D2 fine don't, your just denying your self one of the most fun innovative fps's this generation.

Because they didn't follow this retarded strategy, they have been so sucessful and probably been making more money than most gaming companies out there. Keep in mind that they are also still a indie studio (one of the few) so that in its own right is very impressive. Without all the support they have offered their games they would not have been as popular as they are now (though they'd still be pretty famous). Hence all the bitching. Do they have any obligation beyond the CD? No. Do they profit massively for support after the ship date? Very much so.

Meh. I'll be buying L4D2 when it reaches $40.

Maybe they came back with positive impressions because Gabe Newell threatened to eat them if they continued spreading dirt on the game?

All joking aside, this is irony at its best.

L4D was a rip off at full price, until it gets 10-20 more maps its still not worth it IMO.

I disagree. L4D without any DLC is worth Full price more than almost all other games this gen purely based on fun factor.

I disagree. L4D is not worth Full price. Its the same as Millennium Championship Paintball, but with zombies. Theres no horror factor, no story, no progress, no rpg elements, nothing tactical, no depth, bad matchmaking, unbalanced versus and you can achieve Gold on all Survivor challenges without breaking a sweat.

But you completely ignored the whole point of why games are played. It was one of the most FUN experiences this gen. And loads of people agree as did the media.
