Forums - Sony - SONY Change PS3 AD after Nigerian Complaint (WW1 is insulted LOL)!!

I thought it was a funny joke about the e-mail scams.

Heck, why don't they also demand an apology from Futurama? In Bender's Big Score Zoidberg gets a letter that his family member, the prince of Nigeria, has died and he was the next of kin.

What a frickin' bunk complaint. The Nigerian joke is in reference to the internet scam of sending money to help a deposed prince or whatever (can't remember). It was not real, it just happened that the fake person you were helping by sending money was Nigerian. How is this reference looked on as slander towards Nigeria when the mention of Nigeria in the ad is mearly incidental? Pffft!

For me, those scams were more about inheritting money after the person's spouse had passed away due to cancer. Those were the ones I received.

OT: With having World War I being insulted...that is a pretty pathetic comeback. I mean, really...the INTERNET wasn't around when World War I started >_>

I'm beginning to see a pattern here, and I think I'll go into it.

Killing Spaniards in RE4 = fine.
Killing Russians in like every game and movie ever = fine.
Killing Mexicans in GRAW2 = fine
Killing Africans in RE5 = RACIST!

Jokes about Americans- fine
Jokes about English people- fine
Jokes about Canadians- fine
Jokes about Indians- fine
Jokes about Africans- RACIST!

I honestly think this political correctness is getting out of hand. If something is said without malicious intent, it can't be racist. The ad didn't say "You can't believe everything you read on the internet, or those damned n******** would be a hell of a lot richer, f*** them." That would be racist, and terrible, and deserves to be taken off the air. This does not. The WWI joke isn't even funny.

I find them making fun of World War I much more offensive, especially since my grandfather served during the war.

Let's all sue for money.

I've only seen the commercial the one time on tv. What is the new line about WWI?

If it's class action and I don't have to do anything to receive a small percentage of your awarded sum, then count me in. lol

Can they make a game that has Germany win WW2 and start with the invasion of Africa... mainly Nigeria  WWI?

Consoles owned: NES, N64, PS1, GC, PS2, Wii.

Currently playing...

actually, adding WWI makes it even more humorous in my eyes.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

So stupidity, insults, and generalization of the "typical" gamer are points in Sony's new campaign blitz. Yeah, Sony maybe you should outsource your marketing more

Edit: I don't care about the PC stuff.  I thought both versions were crappy.

It would be still be a better reason then the actual one.

I like the change to "that's how WWI was started." It's funnier in my opinion.
