Nintendo not reacting to the massive YoY decrease the Wii got and not changing the projections to a reachable estimate. I'm honestly surprised they aren't doing anything to keep sales up, or at least so far things haven't gone as planned.

I believe they are making the same mistake they made last year, which was only relying in 2 games for the whole FY Q3/Q4 periods (October - March). They have been releaseing less and less games each year since 2007, this year hitting an all time low of 4 new games only in the USA. (Wii Fit+ is not really a new game, it's basically the same game with some new activities, that's why it costs 20 bucks).

Hopefully they will change their strategy by next year, because making the same mistake 2 consecutive times was really unexpected for a company like Nintendo, and they are paying it with an almost 4 million FY over FY decrease that will most probably grow through March (next FY).

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

Forza 3 announced in E3 and released in October.

For me, there was no real big big surprise this year... (yet ? )

- BF1943's success
- Infamous gameplay (even if it is heavily inspired by The Force Unleashed)
- Killzone 2 (the ridiculous-tsunami-hype almost killed it, but it is a multiplayer gem).

Shadow complex was no surprise (announced at E3), neither was Natal/Wand (tons of rumors on the net)...
ODST will be good I believe.

I hope that Bungie will manage to bring some radical alteration of their classical gameplay in Halo Reach.

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

-GT PSP: I think just about everyone thought this was going nowhere then *bam* release window within a year

-Natal+Milo: everyone expected MS to come up with a motion tech... but certainly not the way MS went with it.

-FFXIV - Not even the most fantatical Sony fanboy thought this would happen. There was like a moment of absolute jubilation... ...until the word 'online' pops up.

But don't you think sony made the same thing? Nintendo has just 3 conference for year, they'll never announce something outside those. Do you think that if they want to do something they'll do it now, outside of any big conference and just after the other 2 big's moves? Their last conference was E3, there they've done very good things, especially about software. You can't say they did things wrong for two years, they have one conference left, and it's the biggest for them. If they'll not show something big, i agree with you, but now i think they are just waiting for the conference, and just sending little messages like the Black Wii (which is obvious, but will not be enaugh, i know).

Shadow Complex was really nig suprise as well...Our main magazine gave it 10/10.
I hadn't ever heard about it tho I am supposed to know everything.

you should pay more attention on E3...

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

The sales of the PS3 slim.

Well E3 was all about Natal,Sensors and Wands.
