Since it is a used copy, have you checked the Blu-ray for scratches or fingerprints?

i have no problem with playing Uncharted with the new FW.

on what scene exactly does it freeze?

I'm only part way through my attempt at Crushing difficulty, chapter 8 I think. So far no problems and I haven't gone back to classic theme.

Yeah this patch does nothing but good. Sony did say they were looking into problems. So hopefully they fix all this

Mine froze on me once near Chap 3, but since then no probs. On Chap 9 or 10.

I'm not sure what chapter I'm on (2 or 3 probably), but it's right after you see that ship hanging off the edge of the waterfall and then you walk down the side of the mountain and start jumping from stone to stone to get to the next area.  It freezes in the exact same spot every time.  Bottom of the disc looks fine.  I am going to try putting my PS3 back on classic theme to see if that works.  It sucked because all day yesterday I was looking forward to playing some Uncharted, and then this happened.  And then I found out online that it's a huge issue right now.

Hey, a buddy of mine is having the same issue.  Where is yours locking up at?  His is locking right after the submarine shootout, when he gets inside the cave area.  He's on firmware 3.01 which is supposed to fix the issues...

Have you had any luck?

I started replaying the game monday to prep for next week, and I've had it freaze on my only once. It was during a firefight in chapter 4 (the area that was in the demo long ago if anyone remembers that). I've played since then and it hasn't frozen again. What ever the problem was, i'm hoping it was a one time thing as i would really like to finish replaying this before i get Uncharted 2 on Tuesday.
