Its not safe to say that. I havent seen a Modded PS2 in my life. That would be like 25 million modded PS2's. I'd assume maybe %5 are modded. at most.

 

OT: It will see a small spike but I feel most people that are into God Of War will get one this holiday. There will be a spike but will return to normal a week later. I feel the 500k descrepencacy may be due to 500k people that bought the game and did not like it. That number may be high but when something is sold in the multi millions, it is not far fetched to believe that a couple hundred k didn not care for for it.



Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

The God of War series has a history of selling more within the Playstation community than attracking people to the brand.

That's silly to say. It sold within the "playstation community" because it came out 2005 when everyone already had a Ps2.

He's correct. The top JRPG will reinvigorate Japans value in the Playstation brand. The Japanese (I am sure) were waiting for Sony to act. With the recent price drop it will also help. Ever questioned why there are only one million Xbox 360's in Japan? The Japanese are counting on the right moment to jump on a properly priced Japanese made system as a secondary console to the Wii with games aimed at the Japanese.

Hmmm, let's see.....

Final Fantasy is their "second coming" over there in Japan, next to Dragon Quest that is

GOWIII is a BIG PS3 exclusive in America, but not THE system seller for the NA side of the things, that's Gran Turismo...

Both will move systems, one will move MANY systems. Try to figure out which one is which...

GT4 didnt sell much more than GOW.

 

Only reason GT3 sold so much more is because it was bundled.

Have you ever thought that it had more to do with th time that sales went down on the PS2 in the states? The average AAA PS2 game around the 2004 period was 2.5 M in the states. Gran Turismo is a system seller, period.

I doubt it will make much difference. It will add another great title to the PS3's library which will help bring sales, but it by itself will have little effect. It might move a few PS2 owners and a couple of 360 owners who owned a PS2 last gen.

GOW Collectors sales - 1.2 million

GOWIII sales - 1.4 million

I would say WW GOW3 will sell 2-2.5 mil. I agree with you though that God of War 3 will only add to the PS3's growing library, but stand-alone it wont move much to help the console effort.
