That's silly to say. It sold within the "playstation community" because it came out 2005 when everyone already had a Ps2.

 

It didn't attract ppl to the brand because everyone already had the brand in their household at that time.

Yes, they will both move systems. Difference is, FFXIII is going to re-define the PlayStation 3 in Japan, GOWIII won't do that for it in America, IMP (prediction).

He's correct. The top JRPG will reinvigorate Japans value in the Playstation brand. The Japanese (I am sure) were waiting for Sony to act. With the recent price drop it will also help. Ever questioned why there are only one million Xbox 360's in Japan? The Japanese are counting on the right moment to jump on a properly priced Japanese made system as a secondary console to the Wii with games aimed at the Japanese.
