I think it can this December, FF XIII ps3 bundle in japan will ensure it hits crazy numbers in japan, and the AAA ip plus the price in NA and EU should push it high up there, and if GT5 comes out, I think its a possibility.

No. Everyone knows at christmas the sales ratio swings heavily in America's favour. This is how the 360 did so well last year.

It is possible, I wouldn't even say improbable and with GT5 (most likely though not confirmed yet) and FFXIII hitting it makes it more than possible. Everyone wants to act like NA is officially MS territory now but that hasn't been decided yet. There are still a LOT of PS2 owners who haven't moved to this generation that this new price point could easily swing over. I do think at the end of this generation NA will still be "won" by X360 but I think the margin will get a lot closer than most around here seem to think.

The flip side to your angle is that how do we know that they did get it the first week. Your assumption would be that only 500k+ people were waiting and while I am no more "in the know" than you are I do feel you are way way off base. The number of people who own a PS2 indicate to me there are still quite a few people out there who haven't moved to this generation (even allowing that Wii and X360 took some, and IMO Wii didn't take that many instead it created more market in old people and kids).

Its funny to see the majority beeing assured all US citizens are biased by their own business Microsoft with no thrust in the success of PS3 towards X360.

It is absolutely possible for PS3 to sell more in US than in EU because from my point of view US folks are more willing to consume especially for X-mas and eastern. And the commercials are made to reach the majority of citizens now don't forget about this additional "feature" BR-player.

it would require a major came and sales holiday at the same time, somthing like gt5 and black friday, but even then i dont really see it if they had managed to get all of those and the price cut in the same week i could see a million, it would have been a massive week, right now i see it topping 750K but not 1 million
