With a worldwide release of GT5 for the 12th of December, with FFXIII coming one week after, I think it could.


Being realistic, I'd say it will top around 750K-800K the best week of holidays.

That would be quite difficult. Not many consoles ever have done it. Wii and PS2 have done it. DS has of course done it numerous times.

But to think PS3 could do it is difficult. But basing it off it's first week numbers to generate what could potentially happen. If PS3 start selling 500k on a weekly basis then yea it's going to do that no problem. But we all know that isn't going to happen. Wait til we see how much PS3 falls in the next few weeks to really how it's going to do in the long run. I mean how do we not know everyone who was waiting for this pricedrop got it on the first week. I mean it did have an unusually large increase compared to others.

I think PS3 will have a better holiday season... maybe better than most think it but suggesting a million in one week now, with sales overall down in 2009 compared to last year, seems to be reaching a little too far..

I'm going to agree with others and think that the highest possible gearing everything is about 750k-800k which is very very good.

Has any console sold 1 million in one week? I think it will top out in the 800k-900k range. But I think it will do that in back to back weeks.

That's exceptionally low. I believe during holiday seasons both 360 and PS3 have passed this number before.

Maybe, on Final Fantasy 13 week.

But that is the only week i think it will be possible.

If 360 can almost get 900k then I believe Ps3 can almost get a million

i hope so i dont know how big GT is but people seem confidant it will be record breaking

I dont think it will happen on GT5 week, too early in December.

If its released in Europe the same week as FF13 is in Japan, then that week will be a definate
