Not to long ago John koller told us that backwards compatibility is not coming back because gamers are buying the system to play ps3 games.  Ok that makes sense but why the hell do they keep releasing ps1 games.  Than seems kind of stupid when you could release ps2 games like gta san an and metal gear 2 which are less old and more prevalent to current customers with a ps3 and would probably make more money and please a lot more people.

Is it just me or does what he said seems stupid when you compare it to what they are doing with ps1 games.  Don't get me wrong i bought like 10 ps1 games and like that they did that but not doing the latter just seems dumb especially since they off some from two generations ago.  Also i have heard that they can fully emulate ps2 games so its not even a technical problem now.  Right?

it is stupid that Sony thinks BC is a useless feature, but some people act like it's more important than playing PS3 games themselves. i hear it quite often that people don't buy a ps3 just because of the lack of BC.

It's obvious why he said it. The ps2 is still selling for 99$ and making massive profit. When you stop buying PS2s, sony will put BC in. Right now its money in the pocket.

I thought the PS3 slim still had PS1 BC, just not PS2. Not true?

All PS3's can play PS1 games. Only some can play PS2 games.

I'm inclined to believe that when the PS2 stops selling, Sony will put PS2 BC into the PS3.

Thats so dumb wait until ps2 stops selling and then have a store for it why not now maximize all the sales you can and mabey get in second place.

Difference between PS2 and PS1 games is that you can still find PS2 games in any game store....
