The sales gap between the PS3 and 360 will still be over 5 million in 12 months time. Next year's big 360 price cuts could extend the margin to 8 million gap again. 360 has a lot more console exclusive games than the PS3 on the horizon.
PS3 has Gran turismo 5 and God of War 3 that is all as far as big selling PS3 exclusive games are concerned.

You have to keep in mind that it really wasn't selling much at all for the last few weeks. This is a great spike in sales, but quite a bit of that was sales that were pushed back by a shortage of consoles and the knowledge that a price cut / new model was coming in a few weeks. If you spread the sales out to cover what would have sold average on those weeks this spike seems a little less impressive. It is pretty obvious that it will still keep sales at a nice high level for a while though... I just wouldn't use this weeks numbers in your conjecture since a lot of it is delayed purchases.

PS3 has had a great Week without a doubt, i hope it continues to perform well but the Gap is big and 360 will be much cheaper during holiday season.

This spike will evaporate in 2-3 weeks, just like all the others have. The PS3 will never fully recover from the mistakes of its launch, and will finish a distant third.

Maybe. Sales will be lifted after the spike falls down, it will probably have consistently higher weekly sales, but I'm not sure about it passing the 360.

The only thing this confirms is that the PS3 is NOT DEAD like some said earlier.

500K is just one week, there's over 8 million plus lead to deal with. MS already said they are not worried and UK and NA is 360 country anyway.
