Forums - Gaming - So when does Final Fantasy X pick up a little bit?

Let me say, before I start, that this topic is not about any other Final Fantasy. You come in here andd talk about other ones, I'll report you for being off-topic.

So I sat down today to play some FFX. I am now in Besaid. I have met Wakka, and seen a little flashback with tiny Tidus talk about how he hates somebody, I assume his father.

The voice acting, lip synching, and writing are atrocious. That's fine. I can accept that, and it's even charming in the same way that old Godzilla movies, when dubbed, are charming. I don't care about that.

What I want to know is when Final Fantasy X is supposed to get awesome. I am now 90 minutes into it - 90 minutes do not feel as if they have passed, but all right. I'm learning the Sphere Grid. I suspect my characters will be getting very strong before too long from now.

I just want to know when things get really interesting, and when I am going to stop cringing at half the voice actors (everyone so far, except John DiMaggio, is embarrassing).

Kylie you are negative about enough games that I'm going to treat you as an outlier. No offense to you.

I understand

FFX is my favorite FF BTW

anyways

so It will pick up once you meet yuna & get to know of where you go........as you leave BESAID & you start fighting enemies with the BEST FF Battle theme ever.....you will know it has become gripping!

Then when you are on the Vehicle it gets REALLY REALLY interesting & EPIC

but the true "gripping nature" comes after you reach the new island

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

PS.

I am being so vague so as to not RUIN anything for you

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Best FF battle theme ever, eh? That would be saying quite a lot...

Around the Network

In about 3 hours.

@khuutra

I just LOVE the battle theme.....LOVE IT!

But trust me, it become gripping as soon as you leave BESAID.....you get a kind of "tutorial" on the games battle system, elemental types, switching characters in between battles & general tips as you fight outside of BESAID

it starts to become EXTREMELY addictive then as the battle system is so much fun!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Hmm.
Prolly at first battle of Sin scene.

Take my love, take my land..

It gets great when you understand the sphere grid, and the complexities and sidequests required to delve their depths.

Remember how FFVIII's gameplay sucked until you learned how to limit break spam, build weapons, and draw the right spells to 100?

It's like that.

The story and characters never were all that, but the game is charming in a way that few other games achieve, and the end game is one of the best.

9.4/10.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I highlight negatives when others (often blindly) overlook them.  That is not being negative, more just being thorough.  I would have given more details why it doesn't ever pick up much, but to do that I would need compare to other FF games, which you requested not be mentioned, so I didn't.

Keep playing and you will see though, no experience like first hand, etc.

No a lot of the time you're just really negative about games - or at least, are so far that I have to take your negativity with a grain of salt. Your praise mans more than the average, if that means anything to you.

@Everyone else: So when I meet Yuna, leave Besaid, and in about three hours, eh?

All right. I'll play a little more soon.
