Sega don't have the money, the resources, the games or the fanbase to get back in the console business.

Your opinion just means you have no appreciation of good games.

Sega franchises are old-fashioned. They can't keep up with the times. I mean theres nothing wrong with it per se, I love nostalgia too, but it's a bad recipy for sucess.¨

Sony came in and modernazied the business by bringing in a modern and cool image with games that even thugs would respect. Sega was stuck in 90's style games such as Virtua Fighter, Sonic, Sega Rally, Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, Afterburner. These franchises had no future commercially, that's why Sega fell. And that's why they will be stuck with low resources and no potential to come back.

Sega's own games were never the reason that they fell.

I suppose new creative franchises (at the time) like Shenmue, Jet Set Radio, and space channel 5 couldn't keep up with the times either, lol.

^ It doesn't say that SNK went out of business due to the Neo Geo

No, but I don't care about SNK lol. I never even had heard of them.

I still feel the same about Sega, I dont see they have a chance to come back into the console business.

Don't get me wrong. I would love to see Sega back in the console hardware business.

I'd become an early adopter to support it.

If Sega actually wants to go bankrupt once and for all then it should consider the console market again.

^I don't think it's very likely for Sega to come back either. Mostly for financial reasons, and because they have been gone for so long, that everyone would see them as a newcomer.

But they do have decent first party studios, and they have been pretty creative and diverse since the Dreamcast days.

I don't think they will come back, but I just wanted to point out that it is not outside the realms of possibility.

They will never be in the big leagues with the Wii et al, but they could fill a niche with a higher cost console; much like SNK did with the NeoGeo. The fans certainly would have nothing to complain about with a steady stream of arcade ports and the odd exclusive.
