Ahh you're right I must be remembering something wrong, I remember wanting one but my folks complained it cost too much, I dunno why I was thinking it was more then the PS2.  Funny thing is my folks said the Dreamcast was too much but bought the Gamecube at launch for 200 + 50 for the extended store warranty + 50 for Luigis Mansion.

The Dreamcast was hated? by whom? one man and his dog?

It may not have sold well (due to sonys financial and advertising muscle) but it was by no means hated by the VAST MAJORITY of those who owned it.

I bet you that based on userbase percentage theres far more people who disliked the ps1 than those who disliked the Dreamcast.

And as i said earlier............. Dreamcast's library for the 2 years it was on the market>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> any consoles first 2 years library on the market.

Oh and i love my megadrive just more then my SNES. Had it not been for the JRPG's and a mario game the snes wouldnt even be in my top 5.

I agree, N64's first 2 years were awesome.............. better than ps1, 2 or 3's first 2 years by a country mile.

ps1..........battle arena toshinden, Ridge racer (i like the series but the origional was utter rubbish)

DC and N64's first 2 years on the market will never be matched. (DC 1st, N64 2nd) or vice versa in some peoples eyes.

I'm surprised nobody has brought up the fact that it might have been how much control the system had over it's generation. Didn't the NES at one point have 80% of the market share, with Nintendo practically dictating what was and wasn't allowed in the games on their system?

Why? You can play NES games on the Wii through virtual console.. you can play every PSone game on the ps3.. yet those old consoles are ahead?

whoever says ps2 shouldnt be near the top is a complete idiot. this is because it was 100 dollars cheaper then regular xbox n it came with a dvd player n the online was prty good considering it came out a year before regular xbox. and again it holds the record for most sold systems. and it had great games like gran turismo 3 witch sold like almost 15 million. and wut about the first greatest games of all time grand theft auto 3, vice city, and san andreas. on each of those games i and everyone i knew prolly played each of those games for half a year straight every single day. and san andreas sold almost 19 million alone on the ps2. i kno the game came out on xbox but that was like 2 years later n that was when the ps2 kids got board of the game. and their still making ps2s and games for it now so how shouldnt it be near the top. i think it should be second after nintendo because it was the next greatest thin after nes.
