Forums - Nintendo - What "hardcore" Wii game is coming that has no reason to flop?

Dead Space seems getting good reviews.

Take my love, take my land..

Don't know what's "hardcore" or not... for me, there are two main categories: the good games and the bad games, the games with lots of efforts and creativity and the games with no efforts and no creativity at all... plus, it's different for everyone, just like we all love different music, movies, books, etc, etc...

So if you want a list, here it is: the Wii retail games under my own (very subjective) radar...

Sin and Punishment 2, Metroid Other M, FFCC Crystal Bearers, Monster Hunter 3, No More Heroes 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Fragile, Tales of Grace, Red Steel 2, Silent Hill, The Grinder, Lost in Shadow... and Muramasa, still not out in Europe... and the next Legend of Zelda, of course...

Will they flop? I don't care, but for all the people tryin' to be creative and to make a good living out of this business, i just hope these will be quality games, and will make profits... that's all i can say, and now, i have to wait and see...

next year is going to be a very good year by the looks of it

None of the games mentioned are hardcore games. They don't even have nudity, hardcore requires at least that.

All hardcore Wii games have a reason to flop in terms of sales - lack of marketing.

If publishers don't advertise /market their hardcore Wii games as much as their casual titles or 360/PS3 titles...then they won't sell.

i call railshooters a casual core game.. because its a pick up and play kind of game you don't have to do much with railshooters only zap the enemy's

Dead Space Extraction has been getting a little hype, i reckon it can sell the same as the ones on the HD Consoles,

Red Steel 2 has got alot of hype so im expecting a million but then again so did the conduit

Metroid Other M will sell a Million

Mario galaxy 2 will sell a million hell it will make 10 million life time, if it doesn't sell a million well mario galaxy 2 is the first mario game in history to not sell a million but i reckon it will

NSMB Wii will sell a million hey it will sell 18 million life time

The Grinder has a chance but don't give Sega the publishing rights they suck as advertisings

Red Steel 2

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Dead Space was called a flop by EA itself. It sold only 1,5 Mio on PS3/Xbox360 combined (and most of this after a price drop).

I think Extraction will top the 1 Mio easily in lifetime sales.

Oh I forgot: Pikmin 3. Not announced yet but Nintendo is clearly working on this game.
