Sonic Solutions has just announced that it will begin offering movies from its catalog to Fujisoft's streaming Wii video service, Minna no Theater Wii. The Roxio CinemaNow service, as offered throughMinna no Theater, will offer both new releases and older titles from the Paramount archives, to users of the downloadable WiiWare video streaming application, which is currently available only in Japan. Though Lionsgate content isn't specified in this agreement, it's worth noting that Cinemanow also distributes movies from that company, an executive of which predicted an agreement much like this.

Minna no Theatre is one of two WiiWare-based streaming video offerings, the other being Nintendo'sWii no Ma Channel, which is currently focused on original programming. Fujisoft has indicated plansto release Minna no Theater in North America.

and they started this in May in JP and as you can see the last statment it is very likely to come over here...

actually this seems to be going very well as many film studios have joined and i mean famous ones

on Jul 14th Warner Bros joined and so now all Warner Bro movies should be on there for viewing!! atleast it starts with 54 warner bro movies!!

ok, so its coming and seems to be adding a lot of movie content, but, has anyone here used it? Is there any reviews of its quality? I'd be interest if it had decent video quality, i.e. near DVD, and did not lag.

No, super_chunk this has only released i JP so i don't think anyone here could have tested it obviously unless someone here lives in JP

We have like 2 japanese members, so don't count on it! Try a google search!

If it streams at good quality and its not expensive..... I might check it out.

another confirmation for it hitting in the west by Nintendo CEO on May 1st:

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has said today that the 'bizarre' Wii-no-Ma video service will eventually hit North America and Europe.

The service, released today in Japan, the channel is set around a virtual living room that can house 8 Miis.

The Miis can relax and watch programming Nintendo has come up with in conjunction with a Japanese ad agency, and supply ratings for the video material.

"Wii-no-Ma service is available only in Japan at the start, but the overseas deployment is under planning in the future," added Iwata. "As Japanese videogames, anime or manga are very favoured all over the world, we also anticipate a great possibility of same spread for video programmes."

its said to stream at 480P max if you have component....I think but it may lag as its new still and hopefull the name over here will be Wii Video Channel or something instead of Everybody's Video or something like that
