SRPG?????? No! It is a JRPG with action features and card games elements.

Secondly, who's developing it?! They don't have a 1st party RTS studio anymore and I believe Robot Studios is already working on something else (one of the developers the arose from the ashes of Ensemble). They better not give this over to some developer that has no experience with RTS games. |
There were 2 studios that arose from the ashes. One of them is definitely handling this, if it is true.
If the series is going back in time then Robot Entertainment might be the ones carrying over the name : http://www.robotentertainment.com/Studio/Photos
RE is also the team who's maintaining AOE3 and Halo Wars as we speak, which means they must be in very close relation with MS.
While Bonfire Studios have an unreleased title - http://www.bonfire-studios.com/games.html But most of this team was working on the Halo Wars project which makes me believe that this'll be more of a 360 title than RE's.

I just looked up Ensembles wiki page and according to that:
"In February 2009 former Ensemble Studios head Tony Goodman started a new independent studio, Robot Entertainment, and a number of the existing employees have been offered a position in this company.[14] Following the announcement of Robot Entertainment, former Ensemble Studios producer David Rippy started a new independent studio, Bonfire Studios, comprised entirely of former Ensemble staff members.[15] In March 2009, a third studio, Windstorm Studios was announced, founded by ex-staffer Dusty Monk.[16] In May 2009, a fourth studio called Newtoy was created by several developers from Ensemble. Newtoy is already working on its first game for the iPhone."
There are 4 of them! Sounds like Robot could be covering Age of Empires as the wiki page states they're resposible for keeping both Halo Wars and Age of Empire updated. Alternatively, Bonfire is believed to have started work on an unnamed project. I have my finger crossed.
Awesome. I love RTS games, even though I generally suck at them. I especially love RTS games that are military based and have historical backgrounds. Props! Great find!

Oh, thanks.
It'd better be absolutely nothing like AoE3 and every bit a call back to AoEII or AoM gameplay.

Better be PC only otherwise I can expect little more than a pile of crap.
Also it better be nothing like AOE3 or AOM, but more closely like AOE2. Hopefully it's also not some retarded studio who handles it but actual Ensemble employees, otherwise... well I guess "pile of crap" has becoming a recurring thing of this post....
