Was your 360 on a power strip?  A UPS?  Did you switch your 360 off by switching off the power strip/UPS? Sometimes a power strip (if my bro has it), sometimes a UPS (if I have it) I would never switch off the power strip to switch off the 360.

If you had brown-outs, how frequent were they?  Black-outs?  Have you lost other electronic equipment due to power outages? Brownouts - twice a week. Blackouts - once every 4-5 months. Never lost electrical equipment due to outages.

Was the 360 operated on the floor?      If so, what kind of surface (carpet, wood, tile, etc.)? It was on a low counter wooden surface (about 2 inches off the ground). Both for me and my brother, although sometimes he would leave it on the carpet.

Was the 360 moved to other areas of the house on a regular basis?  Was it transported to other homes? Other areas of the home yes, albeit prob once a week at most. Once every month thereabout it gets transported to another household.

An open shelf very low on the floor. I would have my Wii next to it. They never operated simultaneously though.

This thread is not gonna get proper results because the proportion of RRODs will be artificially far too high beacuse there's haters and liers claiming they have had X360s RROD.

Also, the tendency to participate in these kind of polls is a lot higher with people who have got a RROD than it is with those who have had no problems with their console.

Its a pretty widespread problem, all of my friends with 360's have had to send them back for one reason or another. Luckily its seldom enough that its not a complete nuisance.

True, but my hope is that I will still get enough data to do a pattern analysis.  Time will tell.
