No...I think the best definitly is the 80gb Metal Gear Solid PS3 bundle with 4 USB port, backward compatibility and came with a Dualshock 3. And it was 399,99$.

I have never worked on PCs, so im definately not doing that..
I tried to turn it on again after waiting some 6 hours.. no luck |
leo-j I know the fix on that site looks intimidating, but it truly works. My 60 gig got the YLOD a couple months ago, and after researching it I ran across that link as well and it fixed my PS3; it actually runs a lot quieter now. He goes step by step on how to take it apart and most importantly how to put it back together. Just get your dad to help you, I'm sure you can do it!
If you send your PS3 in to Sony you'll get a refurbished one, also paying $150. Also if you want to get anything off your hard drive you need to get the PS3 it belongs to working to even access it. You can't just put it in another PS3 and get your pics, music, videos, etc off of it. Think about it like this, your PS3 is out of warranty and it's useless right now. What have you got to lose by at least trying this fix. I read that people have tried this fix and it didnt work for them and then they sent it in to Sony and they still got a refurbished one for $150.
this link is the same set of videos on youtube, but they're easier to see cause of the high quality making the video larger. Good luck!!!
Sorry for your loss man, hope things pan out.
if ur get getting it repaired dont ring sony they are USELESS ive rang about 8 times and my 60gb still isnt fixed
What you should try before anything else is to remove your HDD and see if the PS3 powers up. If it does, then your YLOD can possibly be fixed by connecting the HDD to your PC and doing a scandisk (the slow version). Or perhaps upgrade to a new HDD. You will lose your saves if the HDD is no longer readable...
Join the club... but just remember when you have it repaired... it will happen again and guess what it will cost you again... I have a new adversting slogun for Sony.. "The console that cost you everything"...

Try! your PS3 is out of warranty anyway.
It's not that hard, it works for many people, and if it doesn't, well... get it repaired by Sony.
But you definitely should try. The vids are helpful.
And if you still don't trust yourself enough, make a friend do it, I'm pretty sure you know someone that could do it.
They will know Helgan belongs to Helghasts

Xbox1 from what ive heard was quite sturdy and it lasted a long time and it was the most powerful console last gen. Dreamcast has like...no fail rate, everyone i know that has a dreamcast has theirs working still. And when it came out in 1998 it was leaps and bounds ahead of anything tech wise. It gave PCs a run for its money if you think about games coming out in 1998...at a 640x480 resolution atleast :) |
not true...the first dreamcast I bought (new) didn't work out of the box it wouldn't read discs...next day I returned it in exchange for a new one and 2 years later it stopped reading some of my games and its not the discs because I tried them on my cousins dreamcast and they worked
I had very bad luck with the dreamcast
All these threads make me fear that my launch 80gig will bite the dust one of these days :(.
Send it back to Sony and have it fixed, if you let them know there is a game inside they will return the game to you. You might luck out like I did with my 60GB PS3, When I returned it to have it fixed they sent me back my PS3 with all of my info/gamesaves/pics still on it. That fix is nice and works but not all the time. So just allow the professionals to do the work for you
