I've basically underestimated everything in the PL then. Things will be better when everything settles down, and we'll be able to see how effective a PS3 fightback could be.

I expect from now until Natal (Fall 2010):

- Americas, PS3 and 360 will be very close, but as time progresses the PS3 weekly sales gap will increase. It will still be small though
- Others, PS3 will outsell the 360 weekly
- Japan, PS3 will outsell the 360 weekly by alot

So really, now is the time the PS3 has to make back some lost ground and pick up in both HW and SW sales. I think Natal will decide this gen between who is 2nd and 3rd. If it is a hit, 360 is guaranteed 2nd, if it isn't, PS3 will overtake the 360.

it still won't be easy on sony to be 2nd even if natal fails which is more likely cause so far it doesn't look impressive in the way that not many genres could use it..

Awful statement - Slims have been easing their way into the Americas since the 24th, but they were only widely readily available from yesterday. In EU, it has been a solid 1st September launch.

If Natal fails, trust me, Sony have 2nd secured. Price cuts that late in the gen for the 360 won't have much effect at all, and will make the console less viable.

In saying that, I believe it will not fail.

With the heap of last gen users yet to upgrade still out there, I don't think anyone should have expected the PS3 to take many sales away from the 360 (at this point).

yes sony has pretty much secured 2nd place f natal fails i am just saying its not 100%....

also you can't say natal won't fail cause ms hasn't shown anything or hinted at what types of games ad there seem to be many problems and thoughts.....it has 65% chance it will fail plus it will be expensive cause of the tech so i on't about it being a runaway success.

If Iwata is wright Wii can start being over 80k in the next few weeks...maybe worldwide it will be the leader, but in one or two market for some weeks it will lose his lead.

Even though you can't prove that (PS3 was on a natural slowdown at that time), I do agree, however this cut is different. The 360 has responded to the PS3 cut, last time around Sony offered no response. In a month or two I expect the PS3 to start taking away sales from the 360, but not until then (when the 360 price cut boost is wearing down).

Well, HD > Wii for the rest of the year, almost definitely, I think. The Wii is down YoY, and the PS3 was as well, but the Slim will stop that. The 360 will also probably be down a little, but the "price cut" should keep that to a minimum. PS3 > Wii in Japan for the next couple of months at least, if not until the end of the year. And for a couple of weeks from now, the PS3, and perhap the 360, will be above the Wii. However, when we get into December, I think HD combined> Wii > PS3 > 360.

You can't say that. There might have been a far larger boost in 360 sales if not for the PS3 Slim. That's probably the case.
