47% approval rating eh? What was Mr Bush's all time low? (and Clinton's)

take a look a stick's post. His is a pretty graph.

I dunno.

I found this.

We also don't know the final date on stick's graph.

Bush final approval rating is like in the upper twenties.

I don't know how far the chart goes up to for bush but the 26.1% was at the very very very end of his term. basically right when Obama got in office. Also, there are different sources and polls. I think there are 3 companies who do these kinds of polls. So that would expalin different outcomes.

This is where I got my number.

There is a chart too.

/\ Is the source for the polls. They were conducted by Gallup, which has Obama at 51%.

..Of course, the timing of dropping below 50% is not entirely a quantitative source of trends towards approval ratings. Bush took 37 months, while Clinton took 4. We know how approval ratings ended up :-p

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

FYI: The original chart I used only tracked Bush up to 2007 (or so). It's been updated to include his entire term - which caused the discrepancy. This was the fault of the chart I used, not outlaw's chart (which is indeed accurate, and the same thing I used. Just that it included his entire term)

Swing Voters are dumb they forget things. The economy will probably bounce back, guess who's gonna get the credit for that? in 2010 the democrats are going to have losses in the house and senate 2012 the democrats are going to have more losses in the house and senate, but Obama is almost certainly going to be reelected. Not to mention he probably won't have much competition.

im glad you know who he will run against in 2012 and im glad you know his term will be flawless from here on out. Whoever he runs against will bring up every mistake he makes. don't be so certain.

Indies are against him by a 2:1 margin now plus in all likelyhood there will be a double dip recession.  + we don't know who will get the GOP nom.  Could be Romney or Gingrich and if the latter Obama would lose. Remember the black/youth vote pulled him over in toss-up states by like 1-2%.  VA will go red in 2012 I can tell you that much.

VA and NJ will go GOP this Nov. which will help turn Obama's tide.  I predict 20+ seats in the House and around 10 in the Senate for the GOP in '10.
