Final Fantasy XI had a monthly subscription. Most serious MMORPGs have monthly subscrptions. This cannot be a surprise to anyone that has played an MMORPG in the last dozen years.
MMORPG without monthly subscription sucks.
i'm happy this way, i don't mind paying 10$ if I can enjoy a good game.
(and, I loved FFXI, so I'll love this too.)

beacuase there is much more competition and there is WOW and their first attemp flopped compared to every other FF sales

but it did not flop in the MMO space.. not one bit
Shocker.......not.
If I do decide on possibly playing another MMO though, FFXIV will probably be the one I would be willing to pay for again. After years of WoW though, I just dont think I am willing to ever go back to that genre.
