I think with project natal or whatever, they will need more than a wii HD, because being HD will put them in the same competition with MS and Sony,  anyway  nintendo will do good. they have powerfull first party, everything that has to do with mario or pokemon or zelda will sell.

I think it will be Microsoft. Nintendo will probably launch their new console about a year after whoever makes the first move.

Microsoft. Next year. It'll essentially be a rebranded XBox for Natal, but I believe they'll treat it like an entirely new console (while still making Natal available for 360).

So much facepalm on this thread.

Why would the company making profits and also the market leader be the first to launch a new console? Try and think a little, there is no reason for them to launch a new console any time soon. Who cares that Sony and MS graphics are better, their sales are much worse, and their profits are terrible, life cycles are determined not by hardware.

Nintendo is the market leader, so there's no rush for them. Sony will spend a lot of time with the PS3 and PSP trying to recover their losses, so they'll be slower to launch their next gen console as well. Microsoft has shown a lot of initiative this generation, and they'll want a headstart once again. Chances are that their next console will have motion control of some kind (likely relating to Natal), and they'll want to launch it before Nintendo comes out with their next innovation.
