Nintendo is the market leader, so there's no rush for them. Sony will spend a lot of time with the PS3 and PSP trying to recover their losses, so they'll be slower to launch their next gen console as well. Microsoft has shown a lot of initiative this generation, and they'll want a headstart once again. Chances are that their next console will have motion control of some kind (likely relating to Natal), and they'll want to launch it before Nintendo comes out with their next innovation.
