And while a few people may want to upgrade their fatties to slims, I would think that most people who buy the slim are buying it for the first time due to the more attractive price

After buying the PS3 and a couple of games for it, the possibility of all of the PS3 owners buying a PS3 Slim is extremely slim. Maybe I should submit this to the Guiness Book of World Records for the lamest joke ever.

I think the the majority of PS3 slim launch numbers will be current PS3 owners. However after the first week the newcomers will begin to come in.

I am keeping my 60 gig so i will let someone who doesn't have a PS3 have the one i guess I'm "supposed" to buy

Nah you can't base an accurate prediction of who's gonna buy it just from internet forums. If anything that was said on here came true then Killzone 2 and LBP would have sold 10 million each.
But i believe current PS3 owners will spread the word and get some friends to finally buy one, hell i convinced 3 friends to buy a slim 48 hrs ago...

Why can't it be that existing PS3 owners and new wannabe PS3 owners are going to buy it, why does it have to be just existing PS3 owners?

I wish I had sold my phat PS3 a few months ago for ~$320, then I could have bought a PS3 Slim and you would have had more data.
