Forums - Microsoft - Will ther be double Fee for MMO's on the 360?

I was just browsing to find some upcoming MMO's.Suddenly a question popped in my mind that will we have to pay double to play an MMO on the 360.Usually we have to pay a  monthly subscription fee to play them on PC.

In PS3's case there is no subscription for online play and so we know that the online play will have to be free and developers are trying to create news ways of of recouping their server cost by in game ads and micro transactions.

But in the 360 there is already a subscription to use the Xbox Live, over that the question is that will they charge us more like a monthly fee for playing an MMO?

mmos on the ps3 do not have to be free. and you dont need a gold account to play mmos on the 360.

You don't need Gold if the MMO uses their own servers I believe. Silver members could play FFXI.

Yes, for gold members.

No, for people with no Live subscription.

But Sony has said that PSN will be totally free on the PS3 and in interviews the DC universe and the Agency developers have also said that it will be free to play on the PS3.

Find the quotes for DC Universe and Agency being free please. I have heard none of that nonsense. PSN already has pay for content stuff (Qore) so I don't see how a MMO charging would be out of the question.

Solid: IMO, you mixing two things. First, cost of service (PSN and Live!). PSN is free and Live! Gold cost money, everyones knows that. Second, cost of concrete game. There, it only depends on developers, if they want something.

So, you can be right, if game on 360 needs Gold and some money, you can pay twice. Or three times, if you count paying your Internet Provider. But you can pay only once (Silver + game, or Gold + game free), or nothing (Silver + game free).

On PS3, there isn´t cost of service, so it´s depent on game only.

But, I cannot get your "PSN will be totally free". Aren´t on PSN some think (Qore, games, etc.), which are for money? PSN already isn´t "totally free", IMO.

They said it will be free but they will use in game micro transaction like they will charge for the costumers and weapons that are used. The games will be free to play.

Yeah, cost of service will be free. But can Sony force independent developers to have games for free too?
