Zen AMEN. I have debated until Im blue that the simple fact that Batman is the most feared hero in the Super hero community alone should make him a super hero. I swear im just going to copy and paste your post any time I hear. Batman is not a super hero he has no powers. Fucking Retards go pick up a comic or something

While I agree with pretty much everything you said, I have to say the only reason Batman beats Superman is because Superman holds back. If Superman really gave his all, there is no way Batman could beat him one-on-one. Catching him completely by surprise, maybe. |
Actually, Superman is weak against Kryptonite, and another major weakness he has is that he is truely good, and will sacrafice his own life to save the lives of innocents.
Batman comic spoiler:
Batman could and does easily defeat Superman in each encounter with him, in The Dark Knight Returns series, and actually does spare Clark's life.
That was when Batman was very old and weak, as well. Not at the top of his game.
Superman has way too vulnerable weaknesses for Batman not to easily exploit them, holding back or not.
I don't need your console war.

You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

lol, nobody who has ever read any comic book questions Batman's supremacy. He is easily the coolest supe ever, and you can tell that by even glancing at any comic book ever written.
In other words, nobody who knows what they're talking about, spews that dribble. Batman is so mainsteam, that people talk about him like they know things...but they don't, and they never will. Most people don't read, you see. Most people don't read.
Spoiler for comics:
They all know about the Tim Burton batman stories, but they don't know that The Joker permanently paralized commissioner Gordon's daughter, and what that did to Gordon or Bruce.
Shit dude...nobody can beat Batman. Nobody is that mean. People don't realize how mean and angry he is. They don't realize that he hates everyone, and he's smarter than everyone, and he'll go to any length, or make any sacrafice to achieve his goals.
He's like Dexter. Without his code, he'd be the strongest supervillian of all time.[
Also...if Lex Luther is a super villian, how is Batman not a super hero?

Go read Tower of Babel where Ra's Al Ghul is able to get into Batman's system and found out the weakness of every JLA member. Batman has all that knowledge and the will to execute it.

| ZenfoldorVGI said: One of the most ignorant things I've ever heard is that "Batman is not a superhero." Batman's superpowers are his wits, his resourcefulness, and his powers of deduction. Also, the term "superhero" originally refers to a genre of comic which batman helped invent. Next, in pretty much every Batman comic where he actually fights another superhero, including superman, he owns them. Also, everytime anyone else has tried to take on the joker, he totally screws them up, and/or kills them. Batman is such a great superhero because his power was earned. He isn't some generic superhero with the power to do "x" and even if batman didn't have a dime, he would still be one of the most formidable superheros in the DC universe. In the batcave, Batman has weapons to combat every other superhero known, just in case one of them goes rogue. I can see how someone with a very casual and ignorant view on the comic world, or someone who has only seen batman in The Dark Knight, might make that argument. Their ignorance lends to it. However, any comic fan would laugh that shit out of the building. Try making that argument at CC.
As far as if the world record is deserved, well, imo, it is the best IP based game I've ever played, that didn't start as either an obscure manga, or a game. It's fantastic, and it deserves acclaim, no matter how it gets it. |
To be honest he isn't a superhero, but that is just lame to make some sort of arguement over it. Hes a vigilante and a crime fighter and fights enough people with super powers that its really a non issue.
I'm not much of a Batman fan per say(hes too soft on crime), Im more of a Punisher guy myself but they are in the same boat. They are vigialnte/crime fighters and are comic heros. Both use superior intellect, weaponry, toughness and (particurlarly in Batman's case) martial arts skill to defeat their foes. They are not "super" heros they are just comic heros, but to make the arguement that its not a superhero game is just a semantics arguement.
I disagree with all the love this game is getting. Everything Batman is "cool" since the Christopher Nolan re-imagining of the character and I think that plays a big part in the hype. Its an ok but flawed game, with a nice blend of beat em up and metroidvania. It is worth a rental at best, so I cant see it being best game of any genre.
@Zen......I'd bet everything that Batman couldnt beat Preacher
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I know about Superman's weakness and Batman too is willing to commit that sacrifice.
Im a serious DC fan, so I know all of this.
This whole Batman vs. Superman thing started with Frank Miller's TDK Returns. If you read the comic, Superan goes totally soft on him.
He says things like "Bruce, your heart..." and gives him only weak slaps to stop him.
Green Arrow hits him with an arrow full of kryptonite and only then Batman wins. He doesnt even do it alone.
I know there is also the TDK Strikes Again also by Frank Miller, but frankly, that sucked. So I try to forget that it existed.
Frank Miller, I think, doesnt really like Superman. Thinks hes too soft or something. He saw Batman as the personification of all those things you talked about (self-determination, intelligence, etc.)and wrote TDK Returns with that notion in mind.
Batman wasnt as dark and violent in those days before TDK Returns. FM changed it and his book was so sucessful (especially because of the SvB fight) that it became the new standard. So now everytime they make them fight, he always wins.
But, seriously, if Batman wasnt his friend, Superman could beat him easily. Kriptonyte or not.
All I need to prove my point if for DC to try to change that mythos and writing a story that shows that.
But I think Dc is afraid of Frank Milller.
