In last gen, at this point in time (almost three years after launch) the Xbox had dropped to $149 and the Gamecube had dropped to $99!

And remember, the X360 is almost four years old - in last gen, 2004, when the PS2 was four years it had dropped to $149.

No i hope this gen surpasses sales of past gens. This gen the consoles are a bargain, $400 for a system sounds fantastic.

Yeah I remember that... that was the first and last time I bought something at launch.

I'm a value conscious buyer, and that price drop just ticked me off.  The product was great, but my timing wasn't.  (Refering to the Gamecube)

I game.  You game.  We game.

I'm a videogamer, not a fanboy, but have a special place for Nintendo.

Current Systems Owned: NSwitch/PS4/XONE/WiiU/3DS/2DS/PCGaming Rig-i7/ASUS i7 Gaming Laptop.

Previous Game Consoles:  PS3/Xbox360/Wii/DSL/Pretty much every one thats been released since the Atari 2600.

Seriously?

Sony and Microsoft are dropping the cost of their gaming consoles while Nintendo is still charging the same amount... yet they're the ones screwing the consumers?

Sony and Microsoft were selling their consoles at a loss since the gen began while Nintendo was making a small mint on the Wii yet Sony and Microsoft are the ones screwing the consumers?

Sony and Microsoft have been very heavily upgrading their consoles' functionality in terms of media, online, and more while the Wii has basically the same capabilities it had at the start of this gen... yet Sony and Microsoft are the ones screwing the consumers?

Nope. I'm an early adopter and that's the way the cookie crumbles. By the way, I have the definitive version of the PS3 (60 Gig). I paid $600 and Sony paid the additional $300. The only people that should fell screwed are the people that bought 360's or PS3's within the last few months.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

not really, lol, I got my consoles cause I wanted them there and then, doesn't really bother me that they are cheaper now.

Nice.

I didint say it since I would be banned.

Take my love, take my land..

Well, i don't mind. The wii still the same price, even with the drop on price, it's been a long time.

But for Ps3 owners.... well, depending when they bought it. If they bought the console at launch... 600 ouch :s if they waited for the 400 pricen, not that bad.

I got my ps3 used for 250 with 5 games so... Ha!!!!

The implication here being that Nintendo is the one screwing the consumers, or just that a logic running counter to the OP's would suggest that Nintendo is doing worse than Sony and Microsoft in this respect?

I spend 700 on mine and it was worth every penny. I had for a long time and the game drouts hit i always have full BC.... i have no problem at all w/ them lowering the price at this point. Now i know if this one ever breaks i can get another one for a lot cheaper and with more features.....ofcourse i will have to get a PS2 cause no more BC. But a PS2 is now $75 so once again....nope not in the least bit feel that way
