Forums - Gaming - Which one feels more overused:Mario or Final Fantasy?

Mario.

Final Fantasy get the less used nod since each numbered game in the series is a completely different game [characters, story, setting, etc.]

The time Mario or any other series becomes overused, is when they stop selling.

If they continue to sell, then there is a market that wants them.  So how can that be considered overused?

I game.  You game.  We game.

I'm a videogamer, not a fanboy, but have a special place for Nintendo.

Current Systems Owned: NSwitch/PS4/XONE/WiiU/3DS/2DS/PCGaming Rig-i7/ASUS i7 Gaming Laptop.

Previous Game Consoles:  PS3/Xbox360/Wii/DSL/Pretty much every one thats been released since the Atari 2600.

It is good to know that what I'm saying is reverberating with some members.

Final Fantasy or Mario will be "overused" when either brand begins to lose its potency, either in terms of sales or quality. Neither has reached that point yet - though FF is somewhat closer.

We get one - maybe two - Mario platformers per hardware cycle. One iteration of each sports game, and sometimes a couple of RPGs.

We get one Final Fantasy anywhere between once every three to five years, with spin-offs filling in the gap in the meantime.

These are franchises, not just game series. They are not overused. They just have a huge amount of brand power.

You know what i mean, i even jizzed at that poster when it was revealed.

As i said in my post... "Nintendo" and "conference". Not Shig's private one.

I should say two to five years, since up to this generation we've gotten three main entries per hardware cycle.

What Khuutra said before...

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!

Whatever choice cuts down the opposition and makes me feel better about what console/game I play.

I like Both! Mario maybe doesnt introduce much change with every game but it doesnt simply have to its a great franchise with awesome games this generation.

Final Fantasy is a bit different i like the new original games, what i dislike is how they milk FF VII for example and their policy of making remakes insteead of producing new games.

But like Khuutra said, i think simply they both arent overused.

Well my sister hates how they overused Final Fantasy Vii..
