Forums - Gaming - Imagine this situation. Your choice for next gen consoles.

Imagine a scenario plays out like this:

Year 2011 at E3 Microsoft announces the new Xbox console, with a release date late October 2012.
Mid 2012 Sony announces the next Playstation console, with a release date mid August 2013.
While Nintendo Late 2012 announces the next Nintendo console, with improved graphics. Release date around September 2013.

The biggest games announced to be released around console release dates is the following.

Xbox: Halo 4, Left 4 Dead 3
Playstation: Killzone 3, Metal Gear Solid 5
Nintendo: A new Zelda game. A new Super Smash Bros in HD

The prices tags at launch would be the following:

Xbox: (80GB) $299
Xbox: (250GB) $399
Playstation: (160GB) $349
Playstation: (320GB) $399
Nintendo: (80GB) $249

Remember, this is far in the future. HDD's getting bigger each year.

More info:

Xbox: Compatible with Xbox 360 games, have blu-ray player. Live still cost money to play games, web browser included. hdmi cable and headset  included (only for 250GB version)
Playstation: Compatible with PS3 and PS1 games, better blu-ray player. Cross voice chat and custom soundtracks. blu-tooth headset included. possibly new controller or choice of multiple controllers.
Nintendo: Compatible with GC and Wii games, GC and Wii controller compatible. Able to cross play with Wii users. hdmi cable included

Now, gamers. With only this in mind.
WHICH console would you buy?

EDITED: realized a bit after reading through twice and comments.
Ps will have new controller available, optional if you want old or new.
Wii, price reduced, a bit high for just better graphics..

The Nintendo 80Gb and the Xbox 80Gb (I'd put a bigger HDD in myself).

I would get a good gaming rig lol :P

Jokes aside, the Nintendo one. I just have to have my Zelda each genreation, or else I will get ":("

I LOVE ICELAND!

Probably the Xbox and Nintendo, unless Sony changes it's controller and gets some Bioware exclusives, then it would be possible. If we're still using physical media at that point, they should all have Blu-Ray players in them, so that would be a moot point.

I'd get the Nintendo one regardless..

If the Microsoft one doesn't RRoD or that gen's equalivent, I might get the cheapest one. I'm actually pretty upset about paying $399.99 for a 20GB Pro when I could get an Elite for $299.99 in the coming weeks.

Pixel Art can be fun.

I'd pick the one that gets a numbered final fantasy. Everything else would be an afterthought

Shouldn't the PS4 have backwards compatibility for PS1 and PS2 games, but not for PS3 games?

Well, I mean

Zelda, man.

Wait why would the next Nintendo console not be compatible with GC or Wii controllers, but be compatible with GC and Wii games?

What control scheme would the console have?

I don't think that'll ever happen honestly. I think that'll be one of the top priorties.
