Forums - Nintendo - Rare talks Nintendo relationships and VC

Just to let you know to my knowledge Mystwalker is not an internally owned Microsoft studio. MystWalker had initially gotten a Wii liscense and beta kit back in the day I remember it being on the list of confirmed developers. So if it has been confirmed to have a beta kit then theirs no way its a Microsoft owned studio.

MystWalker simply had a contract with Microsoft to deliver an RPG for the 360. Same goes for developer Artoon who also works with Nintendo. Microsoft doesn't own many Japanese studios to my knowledge they hired some individual developement staff who had worked on various big titles but they themselves don't own their respective studios!

You could be right JC7. At least, Wikipedia doesn't list any connections between Mistwalker and Microsoft. But as always, we don't know how correct Wiki is.

Goldeneye is no longer owned by Rare. It's owned by Activision. They have all say on any future releases of any game with the 007 title including remakes of old games.

So this is similar to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

Konami made the oldskool Arcade/NES games

Ubisoft owns the publishing rights now

So Konami gives the code to Ubisoft who publishes TMNT1 on Wii VC. You pay an extra 100 points to download it, to cover the licensing fees.

 Sounds like to get Goldeneye

Rare gives the code to Activision who publishes Goldeneye on Wii VC, probably paying  200 points for licensing fees.

Hmmm....

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.

i want goldeneye and banjo =)
