For Christmas, I am going to get one (1) Pokemon game. I do not care for regions or story or blah blah blah, just gameplay and replay value.

What is the best one? Or should I wait for Heart and Soul?

Gold and Silver were the best pokemon games, and the remakes look even better. I would wait. You could probably find Diamond and Pearl or even Platinum for a cheap price though.

Don't listen to this fool. Get Platinum for $34.99(or your country's equalivent) and you won't regret it.
