Anyone going to try this?  Or have you already done so?  I'm setting up a media center PC and this is an intriguing idea.

I'm going to use a 6 foot HDMI cable to hook my laptop up to my TV or use Orb to do for free what PlayOn wants 40 bucks a month for.

If I didn't already have a PS3 and 360 I would since these are great things but there's no point in watching those on my Wii when I can do it better on other systems.

Don't get me wrong, I think this is wonderful for Wii only owners, just not anything special for Wii/HD system owners (well, Wii/360 owners, PS3 doesn't have that stuff natively does it?).

It's not $40 per month, it's a one-time charge for the software.

what is PlayOn?

I want to experiment with it. It does seem like though it does not bring a lot more to that table that I cannot get with On Demand on my set-top box.

I just wish they would provide a bit more information on the Wii set-up.

ok i just read the article and now know what it is.. wait so all you get 40 dollars is the software and then you still have to pay for subscriptions like you have to pay monthly fee to netflix for their subscription? thats just dumb.

i saw some software for 30 dollars in ebgames in Canada.... again it turns it into a media center and all you need to do enter a disc into the slot...much easier but there is no special services like netflix you watch from the internet (i think)

but isn't orb do the same for free...
