Forums - Gaming - Kingdom Hearts Story... What the...

Heck is wrong with it?

I've been reading up info on Kingdom hearts Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and to be quite honest im lost.

It seems Birth by sleep takes place even before the original KH1 while days takes place oddly in the middle of 1 and 2 sort of like chains i guess. but still, where the heck are we at in the story? the two portable games really messed things up, the story if i recall was so simple common good guy must stop insane bay guy crap, but now everything is all mixed up and random.

Any info would be nice here poeplez, after watching more trailers on both games im start'n to give a damn about KH again, Dissdia's Badass combat system reminded me of KH2's Action Commands that were over the top so just wanted to see how these other two portables were goin' and BBS has those very same "ACTION" commands again! looks neat, not sure about days but for a DS games days looks awesome!

In conclusion, where are we at in general aspect?

Well, it isn't that complicated. BBS is a prequel to explain the origin of the Keyblade and why Sora has it. 358 is pretty much just filler and not of importance to the main storyline. And the enemy's motivation, Soriku, is to gain control of Kingdom Hearts which either grant them power (Xehanort's heartless) or let come into being (Xemnas), though I'm unsure if I'm correct about Xehanort's heartless.

I dunno about the story, but the timeline is very simple.

First is Birth by Sleep, then comes KH1, then between KH1 and KH2 Chain of Memories and that Days-thing take place simultaneously, and then comes KH2.

these games are just sorta filling in the pieces in the original story line. the next installment in the main series should tie up all of the lose ends so far.

KH2 in my opinion made a brillant move in making the plot much more complex thank KH1, so it's only natural that these games will try to flesh out the new things introduced. Yes, it's a way for Squeenix to make more money, but if the stories are enjoyable and it fits well in the big story, I'm all in for it

They are both Spin-Offs, what do you expect? You will need to play them to understand it.

Erm, 358 isn't filler. Every KH is important when it comes to the story, even Coded...

Anyway, those are just what Ansem/Xemnas want, we don't really know what Xehanort wants to do. He probably has something to do with KH though but we don't know exactly what he wants.

From the latest BBS info, I'm gonna assume Xehanort is Terra's Unversed (the new enemies in BBS) and Nomura said an Unversed is ""those that are not well-versed in existence/life" and they grow out of negative emotions." So I'm assuming Terra turns teh evil and somehow that causes Xehanort to be pissed for some reason because he isn't well-versed in existence/life?

lolz, I don't even know what I'm saying. It doesn't make much sense now.

Yes it is. It just explains the story of Roxas. Not even, we know his story. I think you could take it out and the story wouldn't be affected.

And, no, Xehanort is a person. Terra, Aqua, and Ven are the ones who may be an Unversed, Nobody or whatever. They don't have "real" keyblades and Ven looks surprisingly similar to Roxas.

It also explains the 14th member's story, do you know if she won't play an important role in one of the other games to piece things together? You can't say that without knowing the story.

Also I doubt Xehanort is a real person. If you rearrange his name it spells out No Heart X.

It also spells Another X. Also, I'm tempted to believe this is coincidence unless you can prove that his name is No Heart X or Another X in a different language.

You can't discredit it. "Another" can make sense. Just see what his name is in another language and see if No Heart or Another matches it and I'll believe that theory.
