You can't because it will go against facts and logic. Whenever you have a proper response I will be willing to hear it.

There is no response I can make, because you have your excuses all lined up. If hardware sales dip below 20k, you can say that proves WSR doesn't sell hardware. If it stays in the 25-30k range, you can just say it's the MH3 bundle, ignoring the fact that WSR is already selling faster than MH3 and bound to sell for longer.

Well that was pretty damn unnecessary. He just said he wasn't going to argue with you, what was the point of this post?

The point is I make a well thought out response and he just disregards my opinion and just leaves. If someone challenges you and then runs away when you present him the response to his challenge, well that's totally rude. But when you are biased towards someone you will see the other one as the attacker, so you will probably disregard my post too.

Yeah, because you aren't being rude at all. You need to grow up and stop acting like everyone is ganging up on you. I've never even talked to the guy you were arguing with, so why would I magically be on his side? Stop being so goddamned childish already.

@Famous and Majin: I was a bit rude sorry. I guess I have carried the rough responses from the Tekken 6 thread, since everyone there was attacking my thread and I got really defensive. Sorry again, I got carried away by it.

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.

I appreciate the apology, I'm sorry for getting a big aggressive too. What happened in the Tekken 6-thread? :o

I know the feeling.

Anyway, Iwata meant selling more hardware in the long term, which of course would have to wait to see if he is right. Although the black Wii and MH3 might help with those, but as I stated, more sales is more sales.

Well, you are right in some sense, I would say that. But my post was mainly directed at the ones that were already saying Iwata was correct. I mean, there's no way in which we can tell if he was or not. Remember MH3, Classic Controller Pro, Black Wii, MH3 HW Bundle and Obon all happened during the period Iwata called as the one where WSR would come into effect. And we won't ever know because Wii Fit+ is coming really soon, so sales will go up again.

You are right, but so am I. Theory can't be proved right or wrong.

@Majin: It was the thread were Tekken 6 producer said Wii couldn't handle it, but then they are making a PSP version. Then I got attacked because me and other Wii were supposedly whining about Tekken 6 not coming, when in fact I was trying to show people the double standards some companies have and my anger was about the comment, not the fact that Tekken 6 wasn't coming. And that same guy had said months ago that if demand was there Tekken 6 could be coming to the Wii. Simply crapping on an entire userbase, like many other devs have done when it comes to the Wii.

Good for them. It's a fun game.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Gah, apologies make me feel awkward.

You're right that MH3 makes the impact of WSR hard to judge, but I just don't believe that any game sells as much as WSR has (and will) without shifting hardware. The pre-exisisting fanbase argument has been kicked around for a long time, and I haven't been able to buy into it since Halo 3's large and protracted hardware boost. No matter how well-served a particular genre is, a big game release sells hardware. Nintendo's big games just tend to sell over a really long period which obscures how much hardware they really sell.

Edit: And reading your latest post puts us on more or less the same page. Predictions are fine, but premature conclusions are a bad idea.

Well, Iwata wasn't talking about the Japanese market specifically, was he? There's always the America/Others markets, and those regions don't have a MH3 / Black Wii equivalent in the given time period. (I think?)

Of course, it'll still be impossible to know how many consoles the game is moving for sure, even if there is a hardware boost.

Tres, you should know that article had an apparent mistranslation. It seems they just meant the Wii couldn't handle the PS3/360 version. And despite the big "DUH!" of that comment, he didn't rule out the game on the Wii.
