Wow, I didn't expect the target release to be so soon considering how rough their E3 performance was. Hopefully they aren't too expensive in conjunction with the PS Eye (Probably get EyePet anyway).

When I think of the Wii I think of motion sensing, not the PS3 or 360.
I feel the majority of consumers will have this type of mentality when considering a purchase of a motion sensing-supportive console. I think Sony and Microsoft should have stuck to what they originally intended with their consoles instead of trying to improve upon what the Wii presented.
The only audience I see going for this is existing PS3 owners that don't want a Wii and are only interested in it because it's a Sony product. Otherwise, I think they'd own a Wii by now.
@CGI
that "innovation" is annoying & a hinderance in many games
only nintendo uses it right (SMG & so on)
Surprise, surprise another delay after announcement by Sony.
Great move for Sony, the same goes for MS, motion controls should be an add-on.

Woot? delay? what delay, sorry i dont follow you
How is this a delay, slowmo?
I could be wrong as I'm not prepared to go through the Sony E3 show to check but wasn't this supposed to be in shops for this xmas? Feel free to prove me wrong, I'd hate to spread misinformation guys.
EDIT - I was indeed wrong lol, sorry for posting some huge fail in here, at least the OP gained some dollars from me
Sony needs a killer-app (ugh I hate that term) to launch this with or this is going to be a gigantic flop. A bunch of PSN tech demos aren't going to cut it.
Even if it's the most awesome motion controller ever, nobody is going to care without a piece or two of substantial software that actually uses motion and pointing for something that feels necessary, as opposed to motion controls that feel like they're supplementing button presses. I doubt any such title(s) could be ready for spring 2010 release given the relatively short time that sony's lollipop-dildo wand has been in the hands of developers. That last sentence sounds dirtier than I intended.

Yeah, given that Sony tends to show off their games years before they're ready to ship, it's hard to believe that they're going to come up with something compelling for a motion controller (please, at least give it a name, Sony) launch app in the next nine months.
Sony would have been better off keeping this project under wraps until they were ready to seriously commit to it.
