Sony needs a killer-app (ugh I hate that term) to launch this with or this is going to be a gigantic flop. A bunch of PSN tech demos aren't going to cut it.

Even if it's the most awesome motion controller ever, nobody is going to care without software that actually uses motion and pointing for something that feels necessary, as opposed to motion controls that merely feel like they're supplementing button presses. I doubt any such title could be ready for spring 2010 release given the relatively short time that sony's lollipop-dildo wand has been in the hands of developers. That last sentence sounds dirtier than I intended.

Yeah, given that Sony tends to show off their games years before they're ready to ship, it's hard to believe that they're going to come up with something compelling for a motion controller (please, at least give it a name, Sony) launch app in the next nine months.

Sony would have been better off keeping this project under wraps until they were ready to seriously commit to it.
