I'm making fun of GT5's uncertain release.
You didn't add anything new to the thread. Why bother?

quite simple. I want a penalty for flying off the road at high speeds, or dragging the side of the car around a wall. Why play a race simulator that lets you slam your car into barrels and then actually finish the race? I don't need super details for damage, but I expect at minimum
much more than that and I don't care too much, but the lack of those is a major downside. I've played racing games and turned off the damage and it becomes faster to shoot across the grass in a corner and pick up a penalty than it is to take the corner properly. |
It is true. But I always saw GT5 has a "pure" racing game (Like in prologue, when you hit the fence, your timing is canceled).
It is more a "nice to have" than a mandatory feature to me...
Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

I stand corrected. You will pay for this. |

man i really dont give a damn about an damage-model---just release that game without that like every great Gt and do that on the 6th GT...i just wanna play this game and not wait anpther year for that
I don't want it to become a destruction derby. The damage as I saw with the Subaru is fine to me.
Come up with a release date is all I ask.
nothing will ever be complete for Yamauchi.
and that not a bad thing, it's just that his a "·%"·$"$ perfectionist.

Wait a minute. I thought he said that not all cars have damage, not necessarily "only" 170. And also that 170 cars have interior damage. |
Yes, but don't you think we get some clue from the GC demo?
- in the demo the car with partial damage was a new Subaru, clearly one of the 170 new modeled cars. Only the doors, hood and bumber had damage, not tyres, glass, mirrors, lamps and other plate surfaces in this Subaru model, while the other cars had no damage at all - neither cosmetic or functional.
- it's only logical to put your most effort on Nascar and WRC cars if you're only gonna implement damage on some cars but not all. That's what I think will happen. If you see only partial damage on the new cars, and no damage on most cars - which conclusion are you gonna draw for the final game? That it depends on user feedback and resources whether a bit more damage will be implemented.
Personally Im happy if it's just those 170, as long as it's more damage than just doors-hood-bumper like we saw in the GC demo.
This is one of the only PS3 games I am looking forward to. This looks great, and I love the idea of damaged cars.
Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

Yes, and u have the right to have faith. But this thread is even named for speculation about the level of damage in GT5, and it's a quite big topic that is written in many articles and discussed on gaming forums.
