Forums - Sony - Yamauchi : Gran Turismo 5's damage modelling is unfinished

Was Prologue free?  Oh...I read that out of the 1000 cars, only 170 will have interior, are they going to be increasing that as well?

I have to ask one thing here... if the damage doesn't affect all cars, does that mean you can just choose that car to play online without getting damaged?

Does damage really matter when you're racing around on training wheels in your Toyota Echo, or Ford Ka? I'm guessing damage will be on the Rally and Nascar cars, and the high performance street cars. We've already seen damage on the Impreza.

170 will have exterior and interior damage. All will have interior cockpit view. (press release info)

Feel free to add me as your friend-PSN ID: Bobo012893

so after all only those 170 will have damage and it's not even finished? after what? 2 years since Yamauchi said that they are buying licenses for damage to use them in GT5?! Gran Turismo 5 in Q4 2010/Q1 2011, confirmed?
they announced damage DLC for Prologue months before its release - it's been almost 2 years since the game launched in japan and there's still no damage and we're talking bout 70 cars.

why even put damage into the games if it will not effect performance? thats the whloe reason i race with it online.... so people dont try and use me to turn corners they are comming in too hot for, cosmetic damage is a nice trick, but pointless.

sorry if i misunderstood and the damage will hurt performance

You miss understand...

All cars have exterior damage. Only 170 will have interior.

My only worry is that the game will come out and journalists will hate on it for having inferior damage compared to others and completely ignore the fact that it blows the competition away in every other aspect. (if it does)

Yeah, it's only taken them this long to implement a rather poor damage system.

It'll be awesome in a week 8)

Well...if the production house raves about the amount of vehicles in the game, but it's only 17% getting the full treatment...isn't that something to hit them on?
