Because for the price of a couple shirts, you could buy a full Arcade title, map pack, etc.

Mmmh no... a shirt is 80 MS points...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Exactly. For the price of 5 pointless avatar shirts, you could buy Uno or another Arcade title. The Clone Trooper uniform is also the 400 Microsoft points, and why? You'll end up looking like all the other guys who pointlessly spent money on the stupid clothes. I've yet to meet another person on Xbox Live who has an avatar like me, and I used nothing but the original apparel.

I don't think anyone is making the argument that avatar clothing is a great value. But if people don't mind spending a few dollars to dress up their character who cares? Frankly my biggest problem with avatar clothes is there are few games to show them off.

i cant believe people buy clothes at all 4 their avatars on both the xbox and ps. its pretty sad imo

What else do you do when you have more games than friends?

I see absolutely no point in spending money on clothes for an Avatar.

Paid cosmetic addons are a waste of money, whether in-game (Horse armor, LBP costumes) or stuff for your avatar/ps home character.

Demon's Souls Official Thread  | Currently playing: Left 4 Dead 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Magicka

I don't have a particular problem with the avatar marketplace existing, but some of that stuff is just too expensive. Some full costumes cost 400 pts, that is the price of some games on XBLA! It's just too expensive to justify, although it does have cool stuff.

As for Destructoid, they are mostly anti-Xbox, so it's no surprise.

I don't like it cause its extremely overpriced BS.  Some of the stuff costs 5 Effin dollers!!!  I will never buy anything from the avatar marketplace (just like I would never buy themes or gamerpics)

Avatar Awards on the other hand is frickin sweet!  I hope every game from now on has avatar awards aplenty.

I agree, the avatar awards should become standard, and I would be very happy if they became retroactive, so I could get something for my 1000s that I have already got

What I think would be great with that is a trophy room, like PS home should have, so say you get 1000g in Halo 3, you get a Master Cheif statue, so the accesories or props that you aren't using can still be displayed to show your gaming prowess

Wow that would be pretty sweet too!  Stuff like that would make me work harder on getting 1000G's in every game I could.
