Forums - Microsoft - MS Don't denie 54.2% failure rate is true.

Whats worse is that Mattrick has said that the failure rate of the 360 hasn't affected its sales or image at all. The PR at MS hasn't taken this problem seriously enough I don't think.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

To be honest my Aug07 model has never skipped a beat and I use it a lot.

Also the 360 is so cheap now that if it breaks after the 3 year warranty I would just by a cheap Arcade and pop my HDD on the side.

Spare controller, Free Memory card and a couple of bundled games make it nearly free.

Jobs a goodun.

Well...I've bought 6 360s, and not ONE of them has RROD...not a since one....knock on wood. So, I guess I'm making up for those people who've had 9 and 10 all by their lonsome self...

MS constantly improving hardware design, manufacture and performance one percentile at a time. It just 3 years ago that they were at 68% percent and now they are only at 54%, that's 14% after 3 years. I bet fat princess gets laid more frequently than MS updates the 360's failure rate problem.

Thanks for the good laugh!

What I find ridiculous is the sheer amount of people that are willing to put up with the faulty hardware and are willing to go through the same thing with a new 360. The hardware failure rate may have put off some potential buyer (myself included), but MS have a very loyal fanbase with the 360.

That failure rate seems way too high to me... it just seems unbelieavable.

I'm amazed as well...but branding is a powerful thing.  You know...you slap a brand on a piece of electronics and sell it for 3-4 times what others are charging...and people buy it...it's truly amazing!

I think people got used to ignore hardware failures during the PS1 and PS2 era.

Not saying the PS1 and PS2 were as bad as the 360 is, but they were still pretty bad in terms of reliability.
