Why do you think there's over 300 million PC gamers?

People using their work computers to play Free Cell don't count as "PC Gamers".

Actually we are talking about 300 million ONLINE PC gamers. That's means people that have played a PC game online at some point in 2008.

With most of those 300 million consisting of Flash Based game like "Click the Frog for a free Ipod", Internet hearts, and yahoo pool.

I am sure only 50 million of those actually play "REAL" games online. I am of course excluding the entire country of Korea where it is law to play on online MMO at an Internet Cafe punishable by death if you break that law.

Consoles get the best games every year. Take a look at metacritic just for reference.

I'll take the PS3 for this example.

PC 2009 so far:

Street Fighter IV 91
Braid 90
Empire Total War 90
Plants vs Zombies 88
Eve Online Apocrypha 88
Time Gentleman please 87
Burnout paradise UB 87
The Sims 3 86
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II 85
Secret of Monkey Island: SE 85

You know PC games are better. And if you don't, let these videos convince you!

I LOVE ICELAND!

^uh no. And to end this discussion and end the thread with it :

Anybody can't call themselves a true gamer if they haven't at least owned and exhaustively played any game console at any point in their lives. On the other hand, you could spend your whole life playing PC games, and if you never owned/ played Nintendo/Sega/Sony or any other japanese game exclusive to any of their consoles, you can't seriously call yourself a videogamer. You can perfectly game on consoles and forget about PC gaming, but not viceversa. If you ignore console gaming, you miss too much.

/thread.

^I don't think that's true, a person can exclusively play PC or Console games and be a true gamer.
What is a "true gamer" anyways?

actually, once again you're stating YOUR opinion, so this doesn't end the thread or anything else in any way.

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Because it's great, yah numbskull.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

@adventwolf .... a true gamer would be someone who knows like what your avatar shows, a gamepad, something that didn't start with PC gaming....Many PC games, the best of them end up on consoles anyway. I still have to find a platformer as good as Super Mario, Jak and Daxter or Ratchet & Clank on PC, Action/adventure, RPGs as great as the Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Action games like Ninja Gaiden or God of War, Metal Gear Solid, a racing game better than Gran Turismo, I could go on and on. PCs are for a bunch of RTS and MMORPGs, a little niche puzzle stuff, some FPS (many of which are also on consoles) nothing more.

Well, games from the n64/ps1 era and before are almost perfectly emulated on a modern pc. I also hear PCSX2 is getting pretty good. Of course, having older consoles hooked up to a large sdtv would be ideal, but even if you are only a pc gamer you can still play console games. I also disagree with your notion that you can skip PC gaming entirely and not miss out on that much.
