In the future then, be more specific on what you mean.

We cant read minds through an internet forum, im afraid.

@carl

you are splitting hairs... thats a MikeB trait... I wouldnt go down that path if I were you... especially if it is merely to defend MikeB. Defending MikeB seems foolhardy on this site.

Mike did nothing wrong with the part i was just involved with, if defending somebody for that is bad... then i dont understand what can be "good".

But that does not give you the right to make it something even more than it is

Wow, you must be a very upset person, upset everytime someone makes a minor misquote regarding megacompanies like Microsoft and Sony (which is more common with regard to Sony, due to various reasons, including Japanese to Engrish translations)!

Wow.  So you supposedly can not only divine who I know and associate with in New York all the way from the Netherlands, but you can decide that I am someone who is "a very upset person, upset everytime someone makes a minor misquote regarding megacompanies like Microsoft and Sony".  You get this simply because I point you out as being hypocritical for being critical of others doing the same thing you are, just that you think its ok when its in favor of Sony, because you are a PS3 fanboy?  I like how you leave off the rest of my sentence, which had: "especially when you get off on complaining about others doing the same thing."

So, no I hardly have an issue with someone admitting a misquote.  And in fact, as a man of my word I do indeed applaud you Mike for admitting your statement was not accurate.  I really hope one day you'll see that thats really all most folks want from you, to admit when you make an obvious mistake.  I think you'd find if you did that you'd have a lot more fans of when you do get it right.

We also need to look at this in context.  You are not casual in your posts on these subjects.  You are methodical.  Your craft your messages, you cherrypick what you need to meet your pre-determined goals and from that you obviously have built up quite the library of links.  When you want to obscure context you don't link, you just quote the section that suits the impression you want to convey.  If you don't feel the need/necessity to obsurce context you sometimes provide the link.

So, when I say you don't have the right to make it something even more than it is, its for the two reasons above.  Its not because I get "upset everytime someone makes a minor misquote regarding megacompanies like Microsoft and Sony".

I think you are already well aware of the above.  But you really don't have much left but to go for trying to divert this on me.  This last line of your post is a perfect example:

Or alternatively you can take a step back and be more rational and think maybe Microsoft should have been clearer, more honest and direct.

You did this, its pretty desperate actually, given that my post clearly agreed with you on the above point in regard to Microsoft:

"Indeed I AGREE with you that such statements could easily be viewed at this time as misleading. But as you are well aware that was not the point I was making....I find it crappy and misleading from the quotes you gave so far."

I mean I know propoganda is about repitition, but geez dude, do you think people won't notice that, only two posts apart in the very same thread??

Carl is correct, you said you had seen nothing, so I posted a link.

Ugh, originally I said Natal overshadowed everything for the month following E3.

Milo was overhyped, IMO they significantly overpromised.

Initially I stated Natal seemed a very promising and interesting project, but afterwards journalists who had gone through a demo wrote about the real state of afairs.

It depends on how forgiving people will be, but IMO Natal looks like it's not going to impress. Hype may well trigger initial good sales, but I am sceptical.

IMO Sony's approach seems far more functional for gaming, incredibly more accurate and also more fun than what Microsoft has shown so far. Milo I think is mostly just vaporware at this point, the motion detection seemed inaccurate and prone to delay, the hand gesture stuff seems OK for navigating, but provides nothing really new.

PS3 vs 360 sales

@kowenicki your sig

MikeB classic of the month "Sony could easily hand out 100 million free PS3s without coming close to bankrupting..."

Is actually true, thats ~$30billion US, a lot of money, but will not bankrupt sony,
they have assets nearly 10x that amount
also Its less than 6 months revenue
OTOH a billion PS3's might come close 10billion certain will

It's called sarcasm.

as being hypocritical for being critical of others

Don't you have a mirror at home?

So, no I hardly have an issue with someone admitting a misquote.

And I have no problem, thanking someone for correction. Provided of course if done in a polite manner. However I think it wasn't that big of an issue, I recalled the news items not the exact interview.

PS3 vs 360 sales

@ kowenicki

The only point of that comment was some strange worries Sony was in danger of bankrupting, nothing more nothing less. They have a lot of additional assets, if they buy back shares and pay back all other 3rd party investments they still have a surplus of 50 billion USD worth in assets.

Of course you prefer to ignore the core of the comment.

In theory could, not in reality would. It would not make sense, Sony would then need to scale down dramatically.

You really are getting left with smaller and small quote carve downs to try to put things out of context.

The in-context portion of that message (only a few posts up this thread) stated "simply because I point you out as being hypocritical for being critical of others doing the same thing you are, just that you think its ok when its in favor of Sony"  (bold emphasis added by me)  And so its one thing to be critical of others when you do not behave in the same manner as that which you criticize.  Again, I know you are smart enough to know this.  Its entirely a different animal to criticize those who are merely doing the same thing you often do yourself.

As for your sarcasm, yes you are quite showing that a lot more lately.  Like just the other day when you tried to provoke a very polite billsalias with that "cute" comment (he didn't take the bait).  ( http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/post.php?id=2559272 )  That was not very polite on your part, and this after he was polite to you throughout.  So, sorry, I call BS on that last bit implying your are gracious in such situations.

That really is rich coming from you, one of the biggest cherrypickers I have ever seen.  Hell, in this thread alone you've ignored the obvious meaning of several comments and tried hard to twist them.  Even a couple that AGREED with you, just because it was somehow more personally valuable to you to try to get a dig in and try to frustrate the other poster.  LOL!

I don't agree, I do not resort to name calling or being otherwise abusive towards someone sharing his or her opinion which I do not share.

"cute" comment

Cute is an abusive word? The point was there is really no need for him to try to change my opinion. In due time it will show who has been more correct and even that by itself isn't that important.
