@ Ausfalcon

The big post does not hide what so far appears to be a lie.

Again you sound very extremist to me with your wording.

Neil Thompson head of Xbox UK:

“Whatever format wins it is highly likely we will offer a solution. The only debate is if you want to watch Blu-ray movies and pay the extra money for that feature. We prefer to offer the consumer choice."

Sounds promising to me. In hindsight misleading.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

Nice attempt at word play. Finding something promising is not the same as someone making a promise.

You know this, everyone with any decent skill in using the English language knows this. "Highly likely" is not a promise. I am hardly "very extremist". That's laughable. Indeed I AGREE with you that such statements could easily be viewed at this time as misleading. But as you are well aware that was not the point I was making.

The point was that you definitively stated Microsoft promised this to the public, I.e. that they have broken their word, i.e. that they have broken an oath. And again yes I find it crappy and misleading from the quotes you gave so far. But that does not give you the right to make it something even more than it is, especially when you get off on complaining about others doing the same thing.

Now what's the big deal for you to man up and just admit you overstated stuff and got a little zealous? I don't gloat when someone does the right thing. And again, I make this point especially because you gave a hard time to others for not using words like "likely" or "I think" etc. in such statements.

MikeB, thanks for the pointless little bit from GameTrailers.com. That's not media coverage. No big news stations or late night shows showed any interest in Sony Motion, that's probably why all you could find was a lame GT video and not any actual news coverage like I stated.

Also, you keep saying "it sounds promising to me" but still you claimed they did promise, and they didn't. They said it could happen, not that it WOULD happen which is what promise implies. Ausfalcon is right.... you are sloppy and hypocritical.

Wow, you must be a very upset person, upset everytime someone makes a minor misquote regarding megacompanies like Microsoft and Sony (which is more common with regard to Sony, due to various reasons, including Japanese to Engrish translations)!

Some example headlines:

GameDaily: If Blu-ray Wins Microsoft Will Support It
Military.com: Microsoft Readying Blu-ray for Xbox 360
HDTV UK: CES 2008: Microsoft will switch to Blu-ray if consumer chooses the format

etc, etc, feel free to send them angry letters and call them liars and having no right to misinterpret holy Microsoft comments, like only the most extreme fanboys would.

Or alternatively you can take a step back and be more rational and think maybe Microsoft should have been clearer, more honest and direct.

lol

You didnt state news coverage. You just said...

"I didn't even see one bit showing Sony's new motion tech"

So what mike said was right.

Ugh, originally I said Natal overshadowed everything for the month following E3.  I didn't see one bit showing Sony's tech during that following month.  MikeB posted a gametrailer video from an official Sony released video and it STILL wasn't a big thing when that video came out.  He knew what I meant when I said Natal overshadowed it.  Obviously I had seen the new technology at the E3 briefings so posting a video of their tech demos is kind of pointless....  Sure I guess I didn't list the specific examples of media coverage, but what I said was still right.

He didn't even say anything, just posted the video so I don't see how that makes what he said right when he did not say anything?  It was his feeble attempt to make people think Sony motion actually was as big as Natal this E3.

Bold red thing.

You never stated he had to find news coverage on it. Which is what my original reply to you says.

The video he gave you was enough for what you said, "I didnt see one bit showing Sony's tech".

He gave you a "bit".

good job for the thread mike but now people are killing it....

Anyway nice guess on the ps3 slim i didnt think it was gonna drop intill like the 6th year back in 2006-07 when you guessed it.. of course after 3 MILLION rumors in 2008-09 i figured they had no choice lol.

We all know Mike B is a die hard PS3 fan boy. He constantly makes up ridiculous arguments supporting his opinions and he does not know what he is talking about due to being "drunk" most of the time he posts on these forums.

His sales predictions need to be treated just like Crazzyman and the countless other shady posters on here with a grain of salt.

See bolded blue part.  I already acknowledged your message and that I should have specified more in my original response.  And that does not change the fact that MikeB knew what I meant.  Just as you know what I mean and are just arguing pointless semantics.  You both know that I "saw" the Sony motion tech demos from E3.  You both know I meant videos following E3 that were actually hype related or publicity videos.  Posting a video fo the E3 tech demo compilations does not answer or even slightly begin to refute my argument that Natal overshadowed everything following E3.
