Forums - Nintendo - Wii's Shovelware Problem. Will it fade?

Its very disturbing to many fellow Nintendo gamers to see a trend such as this one continue to spread and I can't help but to be mad to see so many crappy games taking up half of the wall in Gamestop in the Wii section. The problem didn't really exist until the Wii came in and, I respect those video game developers who take Wii seriously and make A games for it. But this must stop, and not only that large names like Ubisoft is involved in this If you ask me its a waste of money.

I mean, not mean to embarass Wii but, WTH IS THIS

 

Not only that, my cousins going to make fun of the shovelware games on the shelves then blame Nintendo for it which just made me mad. What are your feelings?

I just make fun of those titles also no it'll only get worse JK I see much more better
titles at Gamestop nowadays

I just wish they didn't pack the shovelware next to the good games. I hate looking at the shelves and having people give me a second glance because imagine Toddlers dora edition is right in front of me while i'm looking for metroid.

Shovelware is a real sign of succes. It means that the console can sell the most software.

Yeah me too, very sad.

The people who usually buy them are the unofrmed moms looking for somethign for their kids, they shop based on title and cover art alone.

One time i stopped this lady from buying some "imagine" game and pointed her to Mario Galaxy, she thanked me for it and i'm sure her son was thankful as well.

It only makes me angry when shovelware games sell well.
This means that those devs don't need to put much effort in their future products.

That's not really true. The Wii definitly has more shovelware titles than any other console.

I took IGN has an example:

 

Games ranked between 0 and 1: PS1 = 0, PS2 = 0, Wii = 1

Games ranked between 1 and 2: PS1 = 8, PS2 = 5, Wii = 15

Games ranked between 2 and 3: PS1 = 33, PS2 = 40, Wii = 43

 

And this gen is far from being over!
