The Elite is a great option.
I get your point on how PS3 offers more than Elite at the same price but the Wilte is Xbox and so if you want halo or other exclusives you have to buy the xbox....but yeah i think if i were to get an xbox i would probably get the arcade

Unless you want to play certain games of course. So you are highlighting your shortcomings. If they concentrated on the arcade and 60 gig they would still be selling at a lower price. As well as that they could offer the 60 gig in various colours to give it variety.
The 60 gig offers loads of space for most gamers and if they wanted to upgrade there is no problem anyway.. It would also simplify peoples options going out to buy a 360. I mean with 3 or 4 skus on the market it makes it kinda messy. Does anybody agree or am I missing something I mean I am sure MS know what they are doing. |
Didnt xbox 1 have a built in ethernet adapter and a hard drive? I dont' remember anyone saying..."wow PS2 needs to lower the price, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that xbox has"
Its all about the games, plain and simple. Elite at 299 is a great deal for any gamer, I don't know what I'd do without my 120 GB hd. If you want bluray and are really anal and want built in wifi...no xbox360 console will do, elite or non elite.
Well the Elite has basically become the Pro. The Elite no longer includes a HDMI cable and Wifi adapter. The only things that hasn't changed is the black plastic and a 120GB hard-drive.
The Arcade 360 is considered the gimped console. But I think its ideal for those who won't go online. Also it sells the best from my recollection.

Elite never had wifi adapter... All you lose is HDMI cable.
I dont understand, discontinue the Elite? Since the Pro 60GG is discontinued that would leave MS without a HDD SKU lol.
Elite is the new Pro. If anything they should drop the price of the Elite to $249.
One unit, 60gb, multiple colours.
A price drop on 120gb HDDs - make them the only HDDs available (people who want to upgrade their arcade will have to jump straight to 120gb).
I'm a fan of standardisation, one of the reasons why I like the slim.
I think it's funny, the SKU which shares the name of the 360's download service (Arcade) is the only unit that doesn't have the tools required to access the service.
They should get rid of the arcade instead cause any unit without an HDD is garbage.
The difference in cost to manufacture of the pro and the elite is negligible. In fact only having to bulk buy one HDD might save them money overall.
In the end MS can afford to play the waiting game and see how the slim and pricecut works out for Sony aswell as how the Wii does in the run up to Xmas before responding with a pricecut if necessary.

They should drop an Xbox 360 at my front door.
