Forums - Nintendo - Do you think that wii haters hate the console or Nintendo itself

They once were on the light side... now, they are in the dark side.

I can't imagine anyone hating Nintendo...
Nintendo is the epitome of the gaming industry!
They've been around forever!
Anyone who does hate Nintendo, needs to take a history lesson, and learn how this business has progressed, and a huge part of it was Nintendo.

"As for the term "hardcore" it was a marketing term that has been adopted by those who would rather not be called "video game nerds" (or worse). The term has since been beaten to death because those who want to be called it (or play games labelled as it) could not possibly create a more realistic term without deflating their own egos."

Great post, sir.

I'm a hardcore gamer, which means I'm a game nerd. I admit it.

says the guy who owns 87 games and over 6500 posts...LOL YOU ARE hardcore gamer, do you call yourself a nerd?

I admit I'm a nerd, but I call myself a geek.

There is, is just depends on associations. A nerd is almost like a snob. A geek is obsessed.

In my opinion, Nintendo is trash. Always has been.

So I don't hate the wii any more than I hate nintendo.

Why did he get banned for this?  He clearly stated it was his opinion and he was answering the topic so it isn't like the statement was out of place either.

Because my opinion was negative towards almighty nintendo. You can't say such a thing, even if you happen to be answering the topic.

Saying such a thing about the other consolemakers would lead to the same result.

Why be surprised? Why even hate a company anyway?

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

I think that they hate that their console of choice is being dominated by the Wii.

I used to hate both nintendo and the wii...my complaints were lack of hardcore games and dissapointment super mario galaxy and a few other Nintendo made games. Also, I didn't like that they were making games like wii music, wii fit, animal crossing...I'd rather them work on something else. I also hated it for the sheer amount of shovelware that the system attracted, and the fact that many games I wanted to play seemingly missed the wii (e.g., ps3/360/pc multiplatform games).

I still have a wii, and I don't really hate it, nor do I hate Nintendo anymore. There are some games I can see worth picking up, and I like the virtual console games where I can play my favourite games from the past if I wish to. So yeah...I may not like Nintendo as much as I did in the past (e.g., SNES and N64 days) but I don't really hate them either. I get the majority of my gaming needs elsewhere, and still have the opportunity to pick up a wii game that may interest me, or play DKC or super mario bro. on the virtual console if I so desired.
