Forums - Nintendo - (IGN) Castlevania Judgment was a good game.

The funny thing is that a lot of games get this. It's annoying as hell, because it shows they stopped thinking like gamers, and started thinking like the worst of the nerds, with logic that even followed the same lines as racism.

Not claiming it's as bad as racism, but the same amount of prejudice and bullshit logic is there.

No, I don't just mean this game, or (since some of you are likely thinking this about me) Chop Till You Drop (which while having flaws, should not have been judged as a port, since the gameplay and progression is so different). I also mean Sonic and the Black Knight (from reviews that weren't hating on the Wii or Sonic, it was flawed but still decent), or the Wii X games, or Carnival Games (too many reviews judged it by standards other than recreating playing at a carnival), or any RPG that doesn't look like Final Fantasy XII minimum (S-E kind of has the money and resources that smaller RPG developers don't), or just about any Wii game that doesn't say "Your penis will grow bigger if you play this" (which is what Madworld seemed to be reviewed on more than its actual merits).

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

its a good game , but it changed EVERYTHING we loved about Castlevania and turned it into a joke.

IE
Dracula is now a complete asshole
Alucard is a whiny kid
Maria is now a Little girl

and they all look like anime and act like anime.

From what I played of the game I never noticed Alucard was whiny at all, Dracula has pretty much always been a complete asshole, and Maria was a little girl in her first appearance, it's only in Symphony of the Night (where she did nothing) that she's not a little girl.

And even in the beginning of SofN she was a young girl.

its a forgettable, average fighting game, if it wasn't a castlevania game no one would even care. Guilty Gear and Brawl are better fighting games.

It seemed interesting enough to me, though i never went around to picking it up. Mostly because the system looked vaguely similar to Soul Calibur's (the only traditional fighting series i like, aside from Capcom vs)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I never played the game and until I do really can't say either way. I know there are quite a few posters here that love the game.

Yep, Castlevania Judgment is a real gem. Too bad everyone decided to hate it before it was even out.

There was a lot of angst before the game even hit shelves. People were quick to call it a "Death Note" rip-off. However, I had the feeling that they never even watched or heard of Death Note before the game was announced, and they just used the Death Note reference to bring it down.

Because it veered away from the Castlevania formula, it was hated instantly.

Nope. It wasnt

Game blew goat cheese... Even as a maindless brwler, someone at Konami needed to go play Powerstone for a bit before making this game.

The Castlevania formula? i think Castlevania started dying after Symphony of the Night as has gotten worst since, and now Kojima is ready to kill it, and no one cares because Symphony of the Night is cool, even if the character design was better before, even if the game was a lot harder, Castlevania Judgment is just an spinoff
