Forums - Nintendo - Namco: Wii can't handle Tekken 6, PSP can.

@ d21, I gotta say, FF VII does not compare to CC in the graphics department

I know, Munkeh. But games like Spyro, Crash, and Street Fighter Alpha look great on that smaller, sharp screen. On the PS3 (on a larger screen), the same game looks pretty old. The small size hides a lot of flaws.

I agree, the few PS1 games that I have bought on PSN I just treat as PSP games, luckily I have a 4GB memory stick

Don't really see why there would be a hardware limitation.

I would hate to see the game with the wii-mote though.

The OP asked why the PSP gets a version of Tekken 6 while the Wii doesn't. The Wii version will look shabby. On the PSP, even PS1 games look cutting edge. The Wii's unique interface doesn't over come the fact that it's hardware isn't a perfect fit for Tekken. And trust me. Despite my nerdish tendancies, I'm definitely no nerd.

The OP's question has been answered. Tekken STILL isn't coming out for the Wii. The world moves on.

whats the diffrence between a nerd and a geek?

I think the problem with Namco developing the game for the classic controller to fix the main issue is that not all wii-owners have that controller. They'd be limiting themselves. Or they would have to bundle the game with the controller, which weakens profit margins so they would have to sell more... or raise the price of the game to 60-70$ which wouldn't look good compared to other wii games.

A game that's 6 [technically 7th because of tag] in a series with no history on nintendo platforms other than a less than stellar entry known as "Tekken Advance" on the GBA, and priced 10-20$ higher than everything else next to it. What would the average wii owner think??

"Why buy this fighter when SSBB is right here... and CHEAPER!"

Geeks can get jobs and are often quite successful.
Nerds live in their mother's basement or end up in a similar situation.

think is the other way around

they are joking themselves

from the point that DragonBall Z came out for Wii and the controls worked perfec it's stupid to say it cannot happen with SC or Tekken 6 (not to mention DBZ Wii is almost platinum)

but it's their decision, i personally think Namco supports the Wii, even without Tekken and SC

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

@Dinomax

and u think its realistic for namco to expect every wii owner who doesn't have a classic controller to just shell out $20. i don't know about u but everyone i know who owns a wii doesn't even have one of those or even really knew of its existence.

Here's the thing. You assume that the normal Wii controls would make the game unplayable. That's not true at all. The problem is the Wii's d-pad, correct? But the 360 also has a bad d-pad for fighters. But apparently there's no problem with releasing fighters on the 360, yet there is for the Wii. That doesn't make sense.

How would you play tekken with the normal controller ?

if you use the regular nintendo controller. You can't hold it in a way where you can reach the 4 buttons required for each limb you control.

If you use both it and nunchuck. You would have to control it extremely akwardly with having one leg behind the controller the other legg in front and the two hands below the analogue which you would use instead of the d-pad for movement. Sucky controls. It's simple, it's a fact and it's not something that should take these many pages of argument unless you're just arguing because you want to claim that the wii can do whatever the other consoles can. (im not speaking of graphics) and it's simple. It can't. It can do other things sure, but this is one area where it wouldn't suffice.
