Forums - Nintendo - How come journals don't hype or mention good Wii games.

I think IGN has mentioned all those games and has a special section set aside for Darkside Chronicles on their Wii page. Dave Halverson of Play Magazine listed Wario Shake It! and No More Heroes as two of his top ten games of 2008.

because ps360 owners would hype even pile of poo as a next ressurection of jesus?
I'M A CHRISTIAN - before someone again will ban for another stupid reason, just like i was banned for "offensive statements about Europeans" eventhough I AM EUROPEAN(basically i was banned for statements that are true about gaming industry on my own continent).

Seriously, they don't actually like the system. When you deduct points from Super Mario Galaxy for the co-op being "an afterthought" or from Mario Kart Wii for "being too casual" and "based on luck", certainly something is wrong.

Exactly.  Journalists just parrot each other "mario kart is luck! mario kart is luck!"  I remember I read that in every review.

How many of them actually obtained an 8000+ rating?  How many have won a tournament?  Try one of those and call it luck, please.

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)
PC: 10^9
Wii: 10^8

What I'm wondering, since I don't have the game yet, is if the blue shell comes more often if you play the game like Mario Kart or try to play it like a straight racing game.

There's a fixed percent chance of getting each item that differs based on the position you're in.  If you're in first place a lot, you will get hit by blue shells a lot.

I have no idea what you mean when you say "play the game like Mario Kart."  Is this some kind of Casual vs Hardcore argument lead-in?

You don't think the horrible coop in SMG should be accounted for in a review?  I have to disagree.  The coop in SMG is just one step above giving your little brother an unconnected controller and telling him he's helping.  You can say that if they hadn't included it there would be no complaint, but you can't ignore something bad about a game just because you love the rest of it.  You have to review the game given to you in its entirety.

They usually like hyping nintendo games they don't want 3rd parties to make games on wii at leasy from what I know

Dude, media just hates the wii. That's the way it is. You should be used to it by now

Hype is all about advertising, which is all about budget. Now, this is not universally the case, as certain media outlets will latch on to one otherwise low-profile game and hype the hell out of it (like IGN and The Conduit, or Joystiq's current love affair with Scribblenauts), though this is true across all platforms.

Wii games generally don't have advertising or budget, and so lack hype. This is often true for many of Nintendo's high-profile titles. They won't feed the media, so the media has no reason to reciprocate (not saying it's any inherent bias there, but you can't hype Spirit Tracks without a trailer, or exclusive interviews, or something)
