Okay folks, take into account that most people are looking to buy a console for christmas, and with the PS3 being just as affordablee 

as the 360, we will likely have many new console buyers purchase a PS3 as their first HD console. You should take into account the large number of  people who want a PS3 but couldn't afford one. Most people I would be willing to bet bought a 360 due to the price of the PS3. 

Now by no means am I evangelizing sony. But considering there are more people who owned a PS2 than gamecube and xbox combined, We will likely continue to see the same since the PS3 is now as cheap as the 360. Even if the 360 drops the pro and and sells the elite at the same price.. consumers are smart enough to know that the PS3 slim has a bigger hard drive. They will be used to looking at electronic devices storage size.

Afterall, most consumers know to look at the size of the HDD on their ipod before purchasing.

Actually Elite also has 120GB so ps3 slim has the same sized HDD as the elite but i still agree with you that PS3 will outsell 360 this holiday season... because at the same price ps3 has a blu-ray drive while for 360 it doesn't and watch hd movie you have to buy hd dvd player which is not worth it because blu ray won the format war and now no more hd dvd movies will be made and also you have to pay an extra $120 dollars to buy that outdated hd dvd player and also you gotta pay for live....

So... by 1/1/2010, the PS3 will have closed the 8 million gap?

Your insane, the gap will be MUCH smaller thats for certain, maybe about 3 to 1 M apart by years end but PS3 will not overtake the 360 WW this year, not by a longshot.

By years end in my "opinion" i feel theres a "CHANCE" at it, but i did state theres no way it would over-take the 360.

Why would have they lost there minds? You do know the wii sold nearly  5 million consoles alone in december. What is keeping the $299 120GB HDD PS3 with a blu-ray player from doing the same?

Sony's numbers are saying 13 million by the end of the fiscal year. If MSFT sells 10 million units then the gap will be only 3 million smaller.

Well looking at it that way now that you've layed down the numbers seems unlikely.

So with that said i'll change my opinion to 5m to 3m.
